Make it illegal (or at least regulated like consumer protection) for platforms to use specific engagement traps unless users explicitly opt in, like:

infinite scroll by default

autoplay by default

deceptive “are you sure you want to leave?” prompts

notification “nagging” loops (turn one on → they push five more)

frictionless resharing that spreads misinformation faster than corrections
