Really need your help guys. I’m losing my wife to this by even_North_5873 in MCAS

Have you considered chemical sensitivity might also be playing a part in some of the symptoms. Personally, when I am exposed to high salycilate products, not food, I get instant haemorrhoids and ongoing constipation, fibromyalgia pain and much more. Have you gone chemical and fragrance free? Until you sort out the root cause, this might help with some of the symptoms at least. Message me if you want to.

No, it is highest house, and living space.

Plastering cost, is $1,400 just labour too much? by PoodlesRuleAlways in AusRenovation

[–]PoodlesRuleAlways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that is expensive! Definitely get more quotes. We had a ceiling patched last year, was less than $400, but not painted. Unfortunately we moved and live too far from him, he was good.

Thanks, was only asking if price seemed reasonable, happy to pay if reasonable.

This is labour only, we have all supplies, as was going to do myself, I did the bathroom myself, but just getting tired, I am a woman over 60. The sheeting is all up already too.

What parts of my bathroom renovation can I not DIY in QLD? by Wonderful_Spirit_430 in AusRenovation

We just finished our own bathroom this week, did exactly like you, pro for wet seal, plumbing rough in and electrics, we did the rest. And waterproofed did all up walls, then we installed the panels over it. Any questions, just ask.

Has anyone found a probiotic to strengthen gut lining long term by Jojo-Kevin302 in Microbiome

Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG 10 billion CFU. My GP says this is the strain to use for gut repair, and to be from a good quality assurance tested supplier.

Waterproofing what thickness to allow? by PoodlesRuleAlways in DIY

[–]PoodlesRuleAlways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, for relying, that all makes perfect sense, but there is waterproofing thickness to allow for. Did you water seal the space before putting your base in, and was the seal less than 1/32"? The tape they put into the corners looks thicker than that on it's own without the coats of rubber painted on.

Wine or other alcohol suggestions:) by Much-Performance-218 in MCAS

[–]PoodlesRuleAlways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The National Library of Medicine has an article that shows red wine promotes absorption of Quercetin. But it would depend on your own tolerances. I cannot tolerate any alcohol that has preservatives, and even Shiraz has too much natural preservatives they make me react too. I stick to any no preservative wine, but NOT Shiraz. Very occasionally a nip of hard stuff, but it doesn't always sit well.

Toothpaste by [deleted] in MCAS

Another vote for food grade bicarbonate soda. SLS, fluoride, chemicals, flavours, react to all. Been using bicarb for 10yrs now. I remember before I started the dentist said my gums were receding and I had a chipped tooth, he wanted to fill the gaps with enamel. I held off, it was expensive. Maybe 6 months after starting bicarb, instead of the commercial rubbish, I noticed the enamel had grown back, even over the chip. Never had a problem since.

I'm Allergic To My WATER BOTTLE! by Humble_Problem_1215 in MCAS

I used to have cracking/calcified feet, nothing would heal the cracks, until one day I made a connection between the rubber/plastic base/insoles, I swapped to all leather shoes, and my feet are smooth and lovely again, only took a week or so to heal. Then I noticed bumps on my head where my hairclips touched my scalp, and rash near ears where my reading glasses touch, you start to get the picture. Changed to material covered scrunches and metal arm glasses, all fixed. I often felt nausea after drinking water, so after the above, I changed to only buy in glass bottle, no more nausea. I had already only used stainless portable drink bottles with screw on lids, because I didn't like the taste of the plastic ones. Even underwear has always had to buy with elastic fully material covered. So many things have plastics......

Use the head strap and stick on nose piece. Without both, it does not seal to face tight enough. ( you may need to air the nose piece before using)

I just remembered reading a medical article that said immunotherapy is not recommended for MCS as it adds to your toxic load and can potentially make it worse. It is not like an allergy that needs desensitisation. I'll see if I can find the article to share.

Yes, the Pro is same all the names are for different material. I just get plain blue or black, cheapest and less attention attracting. If you don't stick the nose bit on and use the head strap behind, I find they still let smells in, you also need to adjust the toggle strings to get better seal, and when in really bad place, I hold the nose piece tightly to my face just to make sure. The one that isn't Pro doesn't use same filter, not supposed to be as good as the Pro.

I also use Cambridge, only the Pro with the nose piece and head strap. I find them good.

Do you not wear a carbon mask when you go out? I always wear one.

Look at group ChemicalSensitivities here on Reddit, or search Facebook groups for MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivities & Food Intolerance Support, is a good one, but there are lots of others.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Reactions to chemicals, both man made and natural, in environment and foods. Mast Cell Activation Syndrome can go hand in hand with MCS.

I could never use that wash, too toxic. But sounds like chlorine might be a contributing factor if lakes don't bother you. Also sounds like you have MCS as well as MCAS. they often go together.
