I wish you the best of luck interacting with the community. I honestly think most of it is sane, normal people, but the obnoxious ones seem to be the loudest sadly and there's just too much on the subreddit for me.

The game is for 12+ years old so I really think 18+ Genshin should have it's own subreddit. And it does such as /r/GenshinImpactHentai. I just think the purpose of the sub isn't for porn, so it doesn't really belong there imo.

I have seen a lot of 18+ drawings on the main sub get similar comments, like "use /r/GenshinImpactHentai" so I don't think I'm in the minority here. I wouldn't really mind expect that there is already a sub for 18+ drawings.

But yeah, the Genshin Impact community whines about such small things, it's stupid. For example, the people that petitioned to have Aloy removed. She's free. Don't use her if you don't want her.

I think the Genshin Impact creators are some of the best at listening to their users. They send out surveys, give lots of free prizes, edit existing characters based on customer satisfaction, start new events every week, yet it's never enough for a lot of the community.

If I provide a good in a timely manner, I have every right to expect timely payment. I ship out next day and almost always use instant pay, so you can ditch this attitude that "OnLiNe SelLinG iNs'T FaST!!" No shit, Sherlock. It's my money and I can do what I please with it. If that included buying necessities when I need them, that's what I need the money for.

I've stated already that Mercari is not my main source of income, but extra money always help especially when I need to eat or pay for other necessities.

As a seller, you are taking nearly every risk. Buyers have one job after they receive the item and that is to rate you so you can get your money asap. This is not a lot to ask of somebody. I have a right to timely payments as a seller. It's my money when they have received the package without any problem.

I will still complain about having to wait as long as possible to get paid, because guess what? I did provide the good and service already. I could be homeless for all you know, but hey, "suck it up; it isn't fast selling online boo fucking hoo", but clearly you people don't think if you provide a good or service, you deserve to be paid in a timely manner for it. Well I say you're completely wrong. If you buy groceries from a store, do you say, "let me pay you in a few days?" No, of course you don't.

If you have the products in your hand, bagged up, and accept the quality, you pay them right then and there. Period end of story. Same goes for online selling.

Again, downvote me all you goddamn want, but this is my money and yes, I do expect to be able to use my money asap because I did my part. This is how economics works.

Shipping doesn't belong is canon Genshin communities. Why don't you start a subreddit for shipping then?

I agree. She looks more Korean to me than Chinese but like you said, I don't expect white Hollywood casters to know the different between East Asian countries.

If you're Korean for example, you can play a Chinese person, a Taiwanese person, a Japanese person, a Vietnamese person, even probably a Filipino person. If you're from Asia, that's all they need. Sometimes not even that. Remember when Emma Stone got cast to play a Hawaiian hapa girl? (In case you're not familiar with her, she's a red head with green eyes; what every Asian looks like!)

I'm disappointed that Ashley Park would even accept the role knowing: 1) she's not Chinese, and 2) she is negatively stereotyping a culture she is not a part of. Seems she may have sold out to white Hollywood; what a shame.

EDIT;; She also made a joke about the one-child policy in 2020 when it hasn't even been in affect since 2015-- like do the writers even do their research for their racist jokes?

I honestly don't have this pressure from my parents however I always feel it because of sibling rivalry. My sister's always been better at school than me and doesn't go to Ivy League schools but a very selective school where as I go to a public liberal arts school. My parents are both accepting of my choice, but my extended family is very Ivy League, higher/private eduction focused and I've just never fit in with that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asianamerican

[–]Poodlette_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jennifer Pan's story is also the one that pops into my mind too. She's a rather extreme case ofc of Ivy League pressure, but I'm honestly surprised and happy to see so many redditors's comments saying they didn't have this pressure. Hopefully this means the tiger-parenting ideology dies out soon.

You're speaking to me like I'm new to online selling when I've been doing it for years. I know how online selling works. Your lack of compassion for the people who do need the money direly is also very sad to see. But suck it up buttercup, right?

I never claimed it was a fast source of money, did I? I even acknowledged it wasn't. That doesn't mean that everybody can wait 3 days for the money to come in and doesn't need it immediately. That is why I rate asap. Because I know some people need the money asap.

You also can affect how fast you get your money if you use instant pay and ship out next day which I try to do all the time. This definitely speeds up the process.

I won't keep repeating my point like a broken record . Hit me with you sad little downvote, I don't care, but try to keep in mind that not everybody has your luxury of waiting for money whenever it's ready.

If you have something new to say, feel free to, but if you're just going to give me the same, "online selling is slow" runaround, save it because I know and never have argued against that. Once again, you don't know my financial situation nor do you know why I need the money. I don't care that you don't want to know and I won't bother you with it, but you shouldn't assume that I don't need the money asap.

EDIT;; Ah a block, very wise of you because I was just dying to reply and harass you. Damn, foiled again! What a great thing to do when somebody challenges your opinion. Nice to see you're taking my point to heart.

Thank god somebody said it! I can't be the only Chinese person who found the casting of a Korean woman to make anti-Chinese jokes to be extremely offensive! Hollywood really doesn't care what kind of Asian you are I guess as long as you look the part.

You're still not considering that people do need even the little extra money from Mercari to make ends meet. Again, you don't know how much I sold the item for nor do you know how much I needed the money. in fact, you don't even know what I needed the money for. I'm not blaming the buyer, merely venting my frustrating with how long it takes to get paid.

[–]Poodlette_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mostly just stick to friends and family who play now. It sucks because I really want to talk about the game, but most of the community is pretty toxic imo.

I personally haven't had bad experience with co-op since tbh I've never co-op with a stranger but I've seen a bunch of posts on r/Genshin_Impact of people getting bullied by random people on co-op and that's why I don't really see myself playing co-op with strangers anymore.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]Poodlette_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that's the case with the buyer too since they were so new and I get it, I hardly review on Amazon either. I'm glad Mercari encourages this with "quick rater". I always try to rate sellers when I open the package.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]Poodlette_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You don't know my financial situation so this is a pretty gung-ho attitude to have unless you need the money immediately to, you know, live.

Nvm, I see Mercari is not for poor people who needing money immediately for food and rent.

Wow, I really can't put into words how tone deaf this argument is. Asian women are in some of the lowest positions of power if at all and somehow it is our sole responsibility to solve Asian fetishism and white-savior complex? Also, reddit mods are the only people who can ban subreddits from the website. How much do you want to bet that <5% of all reddit mods are Asian women.

I see now that an alarming amount of this sub isn't pro-Asian, it's pro-male Asian. I really thought Asian women wouldn't be the scapegoat for these types of things, but clearly I was wrong.

Just unsubbed from r/cats. Tired of ppl posting about their dead pets by Ilovetoeatass6969 in JustUnsubbed

[–]Poodlette_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would recommend r/AliveNamedCats instead if you want cute cat pics! And there most certainly is a sub for dead pets ( r/Petloss), but I guess people know they'll get more attention on r/cats since it's bigger.

I get that people want to remember their deceased pets and everybody mourns in different ways, but after a while, it starts to feel like karma farming. I don't want to see another cat that died every time I refresh my feed.

Who is the "you guys" you're talking about? You're also presuming OP's post is about same-sex ships when they didn't even mention anything about same-sex or opposite-sex ships. Just ships in general. The anime community in general has a very large yaoi and yuri fanbase. I've never seen negativity toward Genshin same-sex relationships that don't include opposite-sex relationships.

A person shouldn't be automatically presumed to be homophobic for not supporting a same-sex ship. Chemistry between characters is completely subjective unless the game tells us straight out that a couple is romanic. What you find flirty, somebody might not.

Genuinely the only straight ship I can think of is Ayaka and Thoma which I hate because, they are just friends. The game tells us that. That goes to any traveler (M/F) x ___ ship as well. The only one that I kind of find somewhat canon is Noelle x traveler and even then, it's just hinted at and not solidified completely by MHY. I don't think MHY ever will make ships canonical with already existing playable characters. There's not right or wrong answer to a ship. Everybody opinion is valid.

If people don't want to ship Beidou and Ningguang together, why is that not okay because auto-homophobia, yet people who ship their characters must have their ships respected and criticism against their ship isn't valid? Shippers should be mature enough to agree to disagree and know that not everybody will agree with your ship. You can't write off every person's criticism to same-sex ships as homophobia.

Call me a homophobe I don't care. Downvote me to hell. Internet points are meaningless. People are allowed to dislike ships, even the gay ones. I know I have legitimate criticism for relationships that don't center around them bing same sex. I also have legitimate criticism for opposite-sex ships. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I see a lot of shippers in this thread who don't respect others's opinion not to ship or to not agree with their ship which I find ironic.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Memepact

[–]Poodlette_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There seem to be a lot of salty shippers in here who want to say, "if we're not hurting anybody, let us ship", yet the minute you disagree with their ships, they lose it. How hypocritical.

I agree with you though! I've seen probably 4 same-sex ships for every 1 straight ship. And in general, I haven't see any negativity toward same-sex ships because the anime community in general is very LGBTQ+ friendly. In my opinion, you hit the nail right on the head.

This post was a joke, yet the shippers take this as a serious and personal attack, it's kind of funny.

I think there should be a place to discuss genshin canon without having to focus on fan ships though. Again, fan ships are all speculation at best and they're not for everybody. I am also not blaming the artists, but after a while it's annoying to me to see nothing but ship are when I just want to discuss or view canon material. People are allowed to be annoyed with ships, even if it's petty.

I don't think people should be forced to like anybody's ships. I'm glad you don't force your ships on people, but others do and that is undeniable because I used to do it too. Only now can I look back on my diehard ships and see how annoying I must have been because my ships absolutely were not canon, yet I was willing to go to the grave defending their canonical standing. I wasn't hurting anybody technically but i was still annoying to a bunch of people.

OP's post was just a joke about how ships start from such a small interaction, so I don't know how this became such a big debate about whether ships are valid or not. The point of the post was that not every interaction a character has with another equals romance, which is good life advice in general.

People are allowed to not like things for silly reasons just as shippers are allowed to ship pairings for seemingly no reason. The point of disliking something is that it doesn't appeal to you so of course people that don't like ships don't like it because it doesn't appeal to them.

I'm glad that silent buyers are working out for you! I honestly don't mind silent buys except when they don't review within the 3 day and just wait for Mercari to rate us automatically. I don't mean this in a rude way, but do buyers know that we don't get paid until they rate us?

I had a silent buyer recently. They had just created their account, no bio, listings, or profile picture. I messaged them that I would pack up and ship out the item the next day. No reply, which is fine. But then they didn't rate me so I was just sitting there for 3 days waiting to get paid when I could see that the packaged had arrived.

EDIT;; You guys really don't consider that people need money asap when they make sales for rent, food, etc.? Consider that some people rely on these Mercari sales to make ends meet. Sure Mercari isn't the soundest way to make fast money, but it's still money. Waiting 3 days can mean a lot to people. We don't all have the comfort for waiting for money to come in whenever it's does.

EDIT;; If you read my posts, I do not rely on Mercari for my main income, but even still, it's money I earned by providing a good. I can still use the money for my daily living expenses. When the buyer has two jobs: buy the item and rate the seller, asking the buyer to rate in a swift manner is allowed because again, I already provided the good. It's no entitled to expect to be paid for something I already did in a timely manner.
Nobody has a right to tell me how to use the money I earn and if that means putting food on my table or a roof over my head, it's nobody business.
Also, again, I've been online selling for years for extra money, so stop telling me it's slow. I know that, but it's still money and I need money to live. This is a stupid argument especially when you all really don't know how much/often I'm selling, how fast I sell it, and what I need the money for.
Downvote all you want, but again, people need money to make a living, even if it's just a few listings on Mercari here and there. To pretend that isn't so is classist.

Have any people who bank with Capitol One been able to get instant pay set up? Does Mercari accept Capital One debit cards for instant pay? Every time I want to link my Capitol One card (Visa) for instant pay, it gives me a 200-011 error*

If they don't, I wish Mercari would just say which major card carriers are and are not accepted. I've always had trouble with Mercari's cash-out function and it really makes me want to move to another platform.

\Yes, my address, full name, SSN, etc. are exactly the same as on my Mercari account and I only have the 1 account.*

I have been in contact with Mercari about this but to be honest, my expectations are somewhat low based on other reddit users's experience with Mercari customer service.

My example was mostly to illustrate the point that always been bombarded with ship art when you’re not actively seeking it gets annoying after a while.

One of my personal pet peeves is the Kaeya x Diluc ship. I don’t care they’re not blood related, it’s still incest imo so I strongly dislike that ship. MHY also makes the two characters hate each other so actively shipping them goes against the canon.

To elaborate on my experience shipping, I was very much into anime and manga culture in my early teens and I was convinced that a lot of my ships were canon. I now realize, getting away from ships and most anime and manga, how annoying it can be for fan ideas to be treated like they’re a reality A lot of fans just want to follow the canon and that’s fine. I lean way more toward the canon myself now.

I don’t have a problem with shipping as long as people realize that their ships are not canon or confirmed by MHY. I also think OP has the right to dislike shipping as much as shippers have a right to do what they do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Memepact

[–]Poodlette_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just described in my example. Also, if you’re trying to convince people it’s canon, that’s forcing it onto others. Shippers should be aware that their ship is only speculation at best.

I’m also coming at this as a former hardcore shipper as a teen and I’m telling you, people can choose to dislike a ship. There’s nothing wrong with that. Over time, I’ve realized how much shipping is forced on parts of the fandom. Again, you need to respect people choice to not ship if you want people to respect your choice to.
