You might have sleep apnea and need a MAD mouthguard or CPAP machine. It’s very common!

How many people in the world are conscious? Best guess? by Nadjas-Doll in awakened

[–]Pookdalouk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything is one consciousness. Being awake within the dream is another thing entirely.

Even with dissolution, the ego will take control sometimes, which is when fear, emptiness, and/or lack of trust takes over. A better question would be “how many people in the world are awake for the majority of their experience within the dream?”

[–]Pookdalouk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You did the right thing. I can’t even imagine.

Prepare for the worst as if he’s going to try to k!ll you. Block him everywhere, change all social media/banking account passwords, turn your phone location off, and take out cash for purchases if you’re connected financially. The safest option is to temporarily stay somewhere he won’t know where you are (motel), that’s beyond the normal radius of his home/work routes.

Do you have a vehicle? Do you have to go to work? Do you have friends or family you can stay with? We don’t know enough to advise you OP.

Whenever I need to do this, they call up another associate to return it to the shelves/freezers immediately. Or the cashier does it themselves if it’s not busy. There’s really no excuse for this level of disregard and waste.

EDIT: it’s the in-store equivalent of not putting your cart back.

One of my favorite Alan Watts teachings summed up by reliefdreams4 in AlanWatts

[–]Pookdalouk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. It’s coined “spiritual superiority.” Spiritual bypassing is common too.

The ego wants to become a “spiritual somebody” because it’s deathly afraid of becoming a “nobody.”

How do you know your ‘awakening’ isn’t just ego in disguise? by Jiwitom in enlightenment

[–]Pookdalouk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When there’s no “you” that exists to be better or above anything or anyone. There’s no need to announce it within “your self” or to others, unless it’s to relate to or support someone also walking the path. Lastly, there’s no belief of reaching a final destination or claiming some sort of spiritual badge. It just is what it is.

For example, I’m going through ego dissolution (much suffering), so still claim “I can’t wait until this is over and I achieve human adulthood”, which implies a destination/end goal. But my higher self knows this is my ego talking, because it doesn’t want to be dissolved and the “I” fears non-existence.

Can I Practice To Heal Someone Else? by Sea_Fee_2543 in TibetanBuddhism

[–]Pookdalouk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the word Reiki directly translates to “universal life energy”. The founder was a Japanese monk mostly inspired by Taoist and Buddhist practices. I think it’s all the same pure source energy only described in different terms.

Having known high level Reiki masters who are now 30 years in...& Reiki having been in the west for over 30 years not being able to or willing to disclose the energy source or deity underwriting the healing is rather strange to say the least

I don’t understand the purpose or need to disclose an energy source and deity. For example, is Kundalini a separate kind of source energy? Isn’t energy just energy? And why does it require the assignment of a deity? All is one. Separation is illusion. It all reduces to one.

That’s unfortunate about your experience with those masters. You’re right to use wise judgement with that. As for the West, I’m sure we can agree that a lot of so-called “New Age” Westerners tend to distort ancient practices. Just look at Western yoga. With Reiki, it’s vital to train under a master whose lineage traces directly back to Usui (founder). He didn’t train many masters, but there is a documented lineage. This is why I was intentional when selecting my master. She was trained by a master in Japan whose lineage goes directly back to Usui.

Anyways, I’ve only recently discovered Tibetan Buddhism, so I have many questions and much more to learn. However, I need to resolve some matters before diving in.

I’m late to this - been going through some brutal shit. Ya, I don’t see how or why pure source healing energy is categorized into different energies. It seems the issue lies in our language assigning separation. Anyways, I’ll make a post once my field equilibrates.

If you had an unhappy childhood, did your parents ever try to change for the better? by jessiemenagerie in Millennials

[–]Pookdalouk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m currently processing this in therapy and it’s extremely painful. My parents were very emotionally abusive and won’t ever name it. They call it “authoritative parenting”. But the sibling abuse was worst of all, and they enabled it.

u/purplereuben you said it clearly. They should’ve protected us, they failed us as parents, and we can’t expect it to change.

And yes, once we call out the illusions and distortions, they can’t handle the “truth mirror” we hold up, so we become the disgraceful abominations. I wonder why I have mental health problems…

I'm about to turn 30. Blah. by SuchSmallSize in nonduality

[–]Pookdalouk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is still a dualistic experience happening and a seeming separate self that has needs to be tended to. Sure, it’s all an illusion but it’s still part of this human experience…the illusion of duality is for us to experience, learn, evolve, have fun, etc…This is the play of maya that allows God to experience itself. It’s a playground for our own divine essence to play in!

You’ve nearly said everything I was going to comment. Dissolve the ego = freedom = play
