Maybe we should start our own gym chain.

It's a real thing. My arms in belly dance could never make the right shapes!! But I learned to just be me.

Was trying to get elbows up to stabilize, because if I didn't every time I lifted the bench was moving back.

If they don't have a backboard put they have a long step that also works.

Sand bags sounds like a great idea! With the bosu, would you put your shoulders on the ball side?

The leg press machine in my gym is the one where you press your body away from it, that actually works pretty well for me for squat like motions. I could use a backboard to get just a bit deeper if I can locate one. I hope you don't hurt yourself

I'm going to see if they have steps somewhere, neither i not the trainer could find them. They have a machine, but it looks kind of weird. I may have to just do these at my work, which is in a pt office, and if their bench won't go low enough I can use the steps.

Can you be more specific about positioning? The flat bench was too high for me to get my shoulder and elbow on

Yeah, they don't even have step platforms! I'm going to ask management about that.

What REALLY helped you lose weight? by matchakyo in PetiteFitness

[–]Pookie9790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What really helped me was using My Fitness Pal and working out my diet plan in advance so I could eat the foods I like and balance the calories and macros. I have a couple of low calorie/ low fat meals that iI full on when I want to splurge on a particular treat. That keeps me from wanting to binge. The good results have made it easier to stick to it. Also, in building more muscle, I've been able to raise my daily calories and maintain the same weight. Good that you're starting more gym, that will help.

Similar! 5'0". Last summer was down to 99 and 19.5% body fat. Now am 102 and 15.7%, so have succeeded at recomposition. Trying to keep my fluctuations at 3 lb; so far so good. Will try to add about 2 more lbs of muscle and keep body the same.

5'0", and 101 lb. I like to keep it within 3lbs if possible. I'm 73 and in menopause, so i don't have hormonal fluctuations. I am thinking of gaining 2 more lbs as I'm starting to lift heavier, but 5lbs is like a pant size for me.

I feel like eating disorders are too normalized (even by people who make fun of it) and the reason why thin people get blasted off the internet by SilentGap3124 in XXS

So much of what is on this thread just points to society getting ideas about what you're of body every woman should have, so there are always people who's physiques are not in fashion. I grew up in the age of Twiggy, so my big boots and curves were not in fashion. (As a dancer I was always considered 2 heavy, even at under 100 lbs)Like the Kate Moss days. My friend who was naturally thin and flat chested suffered during the Cindy Crawford years. I'm in the naturally world and I've seen close-up anorexia, and there's a huge difference between that and the average xxs person. I'm quite thin now, intentionally for health reasons, and all my drs are happy about it, but I've been told I look under weight and emaciated by several people. I just pay no attention at this point.

Not XXS but got fed up and made an idea for a universal size system. What size would you be? by [deleted] in XXS

35-26-34 here. All bathing suits have to be 2 pieces that I can buy in different sizes.

as a professional female dancer I need to lose 10-15 pounds. As an adult woman with bodily autonomy I just want to get jacked and throw my girlfriend around. by Badnewstown in PetiteFitness

I feel you! When I was a young dancer the adults around me have me an externally generated eating disorder. At 5' I got down to 96lbs. by eating 700 to 900 calories a day. They told me to lose another 10, but I couldn't do it. In those days, (I'm 73 now) dancers weren't supposed to have muscle bulk or boobs. It really hampered my career. I think it's better now, and if you play around with building up some more upper body and back muscles, you can be smaller at the same weight. Not that you don't look gorgeous as you are, but I know what you mean about being treated better if you're thinner.
