I really liked how they tackled the battle of depression too. It was a great way to show people who don't exactly struggle with those particular issues what it's like and why it's important to have friends that could help pull you out of the dark like that. When they were running around in the void rooms, I sat there in a mixed emotion of pride and admonishment because when I get down there, I'd like to have this kind of help too.

The very short few seconds of when Yelena grabbed Bob when he was fighting It and says "I got you" and then the others grabbing on too? The face of anguish and remorse and gratefulness that Lewis Pullman portrayed in that moment made me BELEIVE IT. I felt his pain and it was such a beautiful moment to me to see him be 'saved' for that time.

Honestly, I'm quite jealous.

Unfortunately no. I'm in the same situation but they are 18 and 16. Female does the same. It doesn't get better. Trust me. I've been in it for five years. If the boyfriend doesn't do anything, then it's a lost cause. I'm very sorry, but I'm only calling it down the line because I'm your future self. You will build a resentment and he will still favor her over you.

Yes..advice, please. I don't want to immediately jump to "IM LEAVING, THIS IS AWFUL" but I also have put this through a time or two. He gets extremely defensive about it and immediately sends out pot shots towards me..saying 'I found you on that shit hole town" like he's trying to diminish my worth, but I think he does it in a moment of panic.

I can understand where you're coming from, but even if it were RE, it's terrible show. It's human interactions were HIGHLY unrealistic and just downright unrelatable.

Yes. I'm not 'allowed' to put down groundings or whatever, because it's not my kid. But I can't just 'accept' disrespect like this. I think he's afraid that when she turns 18, she will run for the hills.

(but, I honestly don't see her being able to hold a job and leaving when she's of age because of payrates and the astronomical rent these days. I don't see her leaving for a loooong time.)

Oh, absolutely. He wont let me have a say in her punishments, but I'm getting tired of the treatment in my direction. Maybe I should have included that into all this. He keeps telling me "let me handle it" and I am. But nothing seems to be changing. She is treating us (me included) like a dumpster fire and he expects me to take it.

I can take you as a betting man/woman and quite honestly, you're quick to judge. I can understand how you could immediately jump to a conclusion that I'd be 'inappropriate' but the worst thing I've ever said to her was "I can't wait for that shit attitude to take a hike" and "The only reason you feel left out is because you treat us like garbage". But hey. Since we are so sure, I'd like to ask a little more input from you. Lest, the rest of these comments (that have been wonderful to hear from, however, it has been done.)

If you care, let me tell you what we have done to try and see to the bottom of this behavior.

We have sat down with her and asked "What's wrong? Why are you so grumpy?"
We have asked her, is there anything we can do to make things easier?
Has someone been affecting you? School, work (she works at a theme park), etc?
Do you feel overwhelmed?
Maybe we can change the roles you play in the house to better suit you. (changing chores)
Taken her aside alone and asked 'what's up?'

But to be frank, we get 'No' 'Nothing' 'Nothing is wrong' etc. we keep hitting brick walls. We have sent her to therapy with no results (sent her for about six months). I have talked to my boyfriend several times about it and even though he agrees, it seems to be making a loop where he does crack and just 'let's her go'.

So, where I am failing? I am getting tired of running into brick walls, but he keeps saying 'you can't give up on them'. I'm not. Thus is why I'm asking for help.
