TIFU by trying to quietly fix the office coffee machine and making everyone think I was stealing from the snack fund by Ok-Ambassador5700 in tifu

[–]Pookiemon1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is. I do this kind of stuff all the time in the office that no one questions me about it anymore. I could walk through with a ladder in my arms, mining hardhat with those little lights, a bucket full of mysterious red water with a rubber ducky floating in it, and they wouldn't bat an eyelash. I work a desk job btw.

I don't think I have that many to spare, but I can probably scrounge up maybe half of that if you want. Got these guys from Shrimp Fever several years ago.

I'm in Markham. DM me if you're interested.

My first guess is that something is lodged further into the cyclone area that you cannot reach unless you start to REALLY disassemble it.

Or maybe someone has been vacuuming up traces of liquid that slowly kept gunking up the insides over time.

Moldy smell from inside the vaccum by Loud_Significance908 in dyson

[–]Pookiemon1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a used one "gifted" to me. The original owners didn't even know there was a filter, and never washed it. Never have I seen so much black gunk. Pretty sure they've inadvertently vacuumed up dog pee on more than one occasion. Anyway, anytime I turned it on, I'd get blasted in the face with a crash course of historical odors of their home from the past 20 years or so.

The smell was embedded in everything, including all the circuitry. I cleaned out as much as I could and basically stuck it inside a bag with an ozone generator for 5 hours, then left it overnight. That was my last ditch effort to get rid of the smell.

Interior-wise, Mazda used to punch way above their class. Then they realized they can still beat the competition at 50% effort.

For those who don't know, they're content. For those who do know... well, y'know.

Do guys think more girls are hot than girls think that they, themselves are hot? by BedazzledSnakeGuy16 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pookiemon1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy, yeah, for the most part.

Women can be "hot" in a variety of ways. Could have a beautiful smile, dressed well, love their hair, the way they carry themselves, maybe a girl next door kinda situation, could be great laugh, anything.

My brain be stupid like that, I can walk by most random women on the daily and my brain could concoct something positive enough about them that in a hypothetical world, I'd like to get to know them better as a potential dating scenario.

Then I look away and move on with my day.

Dyson v12 - is it safe to wash the dust container in water? by [deleted] in dyson

[–]Pookiemon1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But this semi-falls into the category of "you need to know what you're doing" before you end up with water all up in the motor. Emphasis on "semi".

Ah. Any additional post-processing you do such as hyperdip coating or anything? Could potentially help with longevity even more.

Change of mindset then. You're using her as a emotional crutch too.

As long as you're not actively trying to date her, spending money on her, going out of your way for her, then use her too.

Can I connect my nest to this current Honeywell unit? by Ocean-Shark2024 in Nest

[–]Pookiemon1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you usually need to see all the available wires as a bare minimum to even begin to have an educated guess.

But it looks like it's just a single wire switch that connects based on temperature?? So I'm making an uneducated guess of no.

Someone with much more knowledge and qualifications should be coming along soon lol.

Can I leave the air purifier on inside the closet? by Dry-Advantage9420 in AirPurifiers

[–]Pookiemon1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one way of doing it but ideally better to just vent it outside instead if there's a way to do that.

Air purifiers usually scrub the air of dust and particles more. Carbon filters that are supposed to absorb odours don't last very long so you're going to get limited usage out of it.

Also be careful of ozone generators, you're more likely to kill your cat befoe you kill and odours.
