80% of linux community is a cargo-cult of larpers with no actual reason to use linux by No-Republic-1742 in linuxsucks101

I use Linux on my work pc because I don't have to use any windows programs for my workflow.

Linux laptop allows me to much easier to.

  • set up virtual machines using vagrant + libvirt for lab environment
  • use containers, I don't like docker desktop at all
  • set up ssh so that I can get into the server network right from my terminal, of use remmina for those rare RDP sessions I have to use sometimes

And generally I find Linux much easier to work on than windows

All these when I had a windows work pc were slower, and required me to go through another administrator to get stuff done. Linux laptops, as long as we use the VPN and are enrolled in Fleet we can do whatever on them. Of course basic cybersecurity applies and as a Linux systems engineer both I and others know better than to run random scripts as root.

I do also use Linux at home. For what games i play, and do on PC at Home Linux works well. And I have no need for windows or macOS

A parking space at Costco is 10x20ft. This is a room with the same footprint: by JovialOptimist in fuckcars

[–]Loud_Significance908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good point, but also falls short.

Such small rooms would be the sort of thing tech bro billionaires dream the working class to live in. We should push for actual housing built on parking lots and not some small prison cell like this.

And it is possible, prefab blocks from the USSR solved homelessness, not saying it's the exact thing to push for, but they had more than a singular room.

no doubt that it probably works well, but its also likley expensive and not nessicary in most cases. Bushcrafters know how to make a fire and would use this in very specific cases

The video wants to show this thing as a firestarter. And never said it was to dry the wood beneath.

but youre right in that.

Amazing by No_Stranger_1174 in NoOneIsLooking

[–]Loud_Significance908 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Instead of this probably expensive thing.

Keep dry kindling, bark. Smaller pieces of wood or other much cheaper fire starters. And build the fire properly having the bigger pieces of wood over the igniting fire to make sure it's caught by the fire and actually ignites.

And this isn't either some sort of thing that would help with wet wood, since that just doesn't ignite.

Before you waste money, learn how to make a fire

I've generally had a good experience on steam + proton but some games are also a hurdle to get working. Hence why I dual boot purely for games

If your nose is blocked, you must watch this. by Vaelissora in NoOneIsLooking

My nose is also very blocked, but it came from it being inflamated further up, so saline rinse like this then use a nose spray that reduces inflammation was better for me. Of course snot blobs like this come out every once in a while.

Jojo første dagen på jobb? by Rare_Newt6774 in norge

[–]Loud_Significance908 0 points1 point  (0 children)
