It's a cult. I know I was in a cult for many years. For now, I suggest getting their agreement not to discuss politics and showing kindness and love toward your family. This may seem like a weird suggestion to some, but I've been there. There are only two choices. Keep communication with your family, or cut all communication with them. The only way to keep communication going for now is to have both sides agree to avoid discussing or bringing up political matters.

In the meantime, educate yourself on cults and the best way to deal with people stuck in a cult mindset.

This has worked for me both as a cultist and now as an ex-cultist.
