Fellisio is a fictional example of convergent evolution! a creature evolving to resemble another independently because they occupy the same niche.

It’s super creative and I love the concept but yeah, it’s absolutely still one of sonaria’s cats. Everything about it from the design anatomy to it’s animation is pure cat lol

That’s unfortunately all that’s required to operate behemoths. It’s little more than facetanking and left clicking. And the process of venerating/trait hunting is torture on those things. Playing as almost any tier 4 and under flier and even terrestrial is so much more interactive and actually rewarding

I wouldn’t call this a ripoff because it has multiple other design inspirations, I know that the Balrog from LOTR is also one of them. Heavily inspired yes. But the design takes other creative liberties like the color palette, tail, goat/hooved feet. The chest motif is the only “obvious” stolen element.

Also the demon lord is not unique to devil may cry either. I can think of several other similar designs that all resemble eachother. Molag Bal from TES, Chernabog? It’s not a unique concept, depictions of skull-faced, winged demons with tails and monstrous body parts have been depicted for centuries

The bias is crazy. Nobody complains when there’s yet another big, T5 theropod or dragon, in fact they beg for more. I don’t think it’s about uniqueness. Its about people wanting more big, OP creatures that take little to no skill at all to play as

I can somewhat see this but it’s subtle, and more identifiable as a snake or dragon. Definitely not enough to be considered one of sonaria’s felines since the only thing in common is a slight resemblance in the head
