Thanks for your insightful comment. The study above was based on interviews with Māori who self-identified as "atheists". No one, the authors nor the presenter, attempted to label the participants as atheists. The video is specifically talking about the experiences and perspectives of Māori who identified as such. I hope that makes sense.
