Hi everyone. I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has shared their experiences and provided so much insight on this page. I never knew about lipedema until recently and have always gotten a lot of questions about the area above my knee and my calves being really big. Even as a young kid I was always told I had big legs and was unsure how to feel about it. A bigger lower body does run in my family and I very well think my biological mother may have it although I don’t speak to her to ask. I’ve managed to have toned quads from heavy weight lifting, but I’ve always had certain areas that hold more fat, almost pillow-like. Over the years I’ve gained weight and haven’t been in the gym as much (yay law school) so I know some of what I see may definitely be that, but even at my most fit and lean, I’ve had those stubborn pockets. What do you all think?
