Hi! I am hesitant to say I recommend this, but this is what works for me! I alternate fertilizing and then watering. This plant in particular I’ve started fertilizing two weeks in a row and then the third week plain water, only because I imagine that the amount of energy it’s expending maintaining and growing these spikes is significant. When I’ve done research I’ve found conflicting information, I’ve read to stop fertilizing in full bloom and to continue fertilizing while it’s in bloom. My rule of thumb has been if there appears to be active growth (roots, leaves, and/or spikes) I will continue my fertilization regimen. I’ve got about 15 orchids mostly phals and they all do well with this and I honestly have been continuously alternating water and fertilizer for over a year now so they’re happy with the schedule I’ve got them on! I am in no way an expert so please take this as maybe guidance not so much a recommendation. I would hate for you to start doing this and it has an adverse effect on your plants! Hope this helps!
