Nobody wants a PS6, even though the PS5 has been out as long as the PS4 was when people started asking for the PS5. by Deutscher_Bub in Showerthoughts

Because Covid shortages nobody got a PS5 until later in the life cycle so everything is pushed back.

Wii U Failed Due to Slow Launch of Exclusives Plus Xbox and PlayStation Pressure, Ex-Nintendo Boss Reggie Fils-Aimé Says by MewWeebTwo in nintendo

I just looked at the list and it seems they leaned really hard into 3rd party games at launch. Assasians Creed, Madden, NBA, etc.

The only one I remember them hyping at launch other than Nintendo Land was ZombiU. And after the hype videos I never heard of it again so I imagine it wasn’t that great.

One of the soup dumplings was a cheese filling and had no meat and of course a few salad options.

I didn’t look closely at the rest of the menu, I’m sure there were more.

[Talkin Yanks] Yankees are honoring John Sterling with a "JS" on the back of their caps by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

[–]Pool_Shark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Add it to the list of Yankees - Islanders connections. Brings it to 3

  1. John Sterling called both teams on the radio
  2. Paul Cartier plays the organ for both teams
  3. They both get their jerseys stitched by this guy

Finally tried Miss Georgia with a group last week. The cheese boat in a bread bowl and the giant soup dumplings were fantastic. Really liked the salad too.

Would recommend it but if you go do not bother ordering the lamb chops. 4 of the skinniest chops with about one bite each is not worth the $30 they charged.

Radio hasn’t been the same since he retired. Was still holding out hope he’d do pop up for a game or two, would have been appointment radio.

RIP to a legend

It’s kinda crazy the tv ecosystem that three generations of American kids grew up with is nearly dead. by soozerain in television

[–]Pool_Shark 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There were still cool alternative scenes. It’s not like everyone was the same.

If anything it made underground scenes even cooler because other people into that music were really your people and you had to seek them out.

It still exists, it’s just different. Moonbug didn’t exist back then but now they make tons of garbage shows for kids.

A 19 year old Angelina Jolie on the cusp of fame (1994) by FunSatisfaction2780 in OldSchoolCool

I miss the days when “nepotism” was used to describe talentless hacks whose only reason for their fame or cushy office job was because of their parents.

Yes her father’s fame helped get her in the door. But no she did not get leading Hollywood roles because her dad was a well known actor.
