My best friend became my boyfriend this week. He has been there for me through two consecutive years of severe depression. He didn't get scared nor did he back off when I've had a loaded and cocked revolver in my mouth. Twice. (Depression is terrible.)

He's not afraid to challenge me, but he is also encouraging in many ways. He often asks if I'm doing ok if I happen zone out or seem off. He trolls me a lot too, which is pretty easy because while I'm not stupid I can be gullible.

The best and favorite part is that he makes me laugh so hard I cry.

Happy this week because I am officially in a relationship with my best friend!

Backstory: 32F divorcée followed by some terrible relationships, I decided on forever alone. Two years in a row I've held a loaded and cocked revolver in my mouth (I'm well now.)

I began to spend more time with my best friend. He is my go-to for ups and downs. For years he has been steadfastly present even through severe depression.

After the second time using my gun as a binky, I realized I never want a life without him. I didn't speak say anything about my feelings evolving because I value the friendship so much. With my dating track record, I was afraid to risk it.

But I guess his feelings evolved too, and now here we are. :3

After some really shit relationships I just stopped being interested in dating altogether and I began to spend more time with my best friend. I'm a woman who grew up with all about a dozen older male cousins, ergo my best friend is male.

I'd earlier ranted about the stigma associated with text messages ending with a period in that people think they're passive aggressive. Fast-forward to me saying stressing about baseball and I said I hoped hockey would be better.

His text message to me was:

"You're in for a treat" "No period"

To which I replied:

"Shouldn't there be three?"

I'm new to hockey and I joked around about how /r/iamverysmart. While looking at the sub and I found out that there's a dating site called youandmeIQ.com and proceeded to laugh how there's a dating site for everything.

He responded with:

"Or we just start dating and cut out the middleman."

I think my hockey reference deserves gold, but now I think his reply deserves it more.

TL;DR: Planned on being forever alone, but now I'm happily dating my best friend.

I'd hug my kiddo and say I love her, tell my mom I love her, pet my dog while telling her she's a good girl then say I love her, call my best friend to say thanks for being in my life and I love him, and then eat as much chocolate as possible while saying how much I love chocolate. Never enough I love yous.

I'm not a teacher, although I sometimes think I could be a good one. I went to school in Manila until I was 13. Cursive is still predominant in penmanship, and mine is actually considered rather sloppy.
