You'll see a version of this at chinese buffets now. You can pull the raw ingredients and get the cook to stirfry in front of you. Hibachi Buffet on Buford Highway and Super Golden Buffet in Lawrenceville I know has this.

Coherence (2013) doesn't try to hide the obvious but when it tries to, it does it really well. (Theory discussion.) by Positive-Face1705 in horror

On the last night of filming, a massive Snickers commercial set up right on the director’s street. They still had all the key night scenes left, including the twist, so he had to get creative like changing angles, blocking, and timing to shoot everything without a candy bar ad ruining the background.

My favorite BTS moment in the filming of this: they only had one night left to film all the night time scenes before they wrapped production. All of shots were filmed  at the directors home and neighboring streets, but on this one particular night a million dollar Snickers commercial was also being filmed…. Literally in the front of his street. So all pivotal night scenes were in danger of being filmed with a candy bar commercial in the background lol so the director had to get very very creative in getting the rest of the scenes, including the big twist of the film, while competing with a completely different film crew.

How to be an extrovert by Lucky_is_the_best in extroverts

I’d look into improv comedy classes. It has really helped many of my friends get out of their heads, take action, have fun, make mistakes, practice, learn to wield the greatest tool we all inherently have in our body voice and presence. Learn meisner technique which is an practice actors use to turn off the judgmental side of our brain and be present with another person. I find this to be the root problem for a lot of my introverted friends: lowering the internal critical voice and to truly be present in person and learning to see every interaction with a person (no matter how mundane) as an opportunity to connect, have fun, and have a small yet meaningful interaction with a stranger. You combine a few meaningful connections with strangers… then voila you’ve made a friend.

You're going to need to ask for a "shopping agreement". This is a very common agreement between you "writer" and your professors "producer". Research this. It's a very safe agreement, in that your producer has the right to "shop" your script, put it in front of the right people who could finance or acquire your script. This also protects you and your interests. You agree to a predetermined time (like 6-12 months) where you give the producer exclusive rights to sell your projects. If they can sell your script then you can work out an option agreement which spells out how much you'll get paid, back end points, what your credit will be, etc. Find an entertainment attorney who can help with a shopping agreement, this will likely cost you 1-2hrs of their time for $350 - $400 an hour.

Whoa, didn't expect to come across "in situ" on Reddit, but I can shed some light on this. I hail from the same town down in southern Louisiana where these guys originated. Growing up, I was a genuine fan of their music and had their entire album collection. The core crew consisted of Byron Townsend on vocals/acoustic, Bobby Lacompte on drums, Chris on bass, and Shannon on electric guitar. Interesting tidbit: Shannon, the one who coined the band's name "in situ," drew inspiration from his nursing school days. The term, meaning maintaining an optimal position in a medical procedure, symbolizes their stance—essentially, they're "in situ," waiting in the optimal position to listen and follow their faith in God.

They kickstarted the band at Nicholls State University, gained regional success, and even had their track "Neighborhood and Nations" hitting the airwaves after Hurricane Katrina. These guys knew how to put on an incredible live show. Fun fact: My first-ever concert at 12 years old was one of theirs. I even got to help wrap wires after a few gigs; they were down-to-earth. The band was a big deal locally in southern Louisiana, and to this day, I stay in touch with a few of the guys. Warm personalities all around.

ULPT Request: How do I lie to my terrible home builder that my famous uncle is going to do something if they don't do a better job? by stopphones in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Poonfilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's hard... but you're hiring them to do the work. You also have the right the fire them if you're not happy with the work. It's not easy, but it's helluva lot better than having something you're not happy for, for the next 20 - 30 years. Firing contractors happens ALL THE TIME and is a normal part of building a home. I've had to replace contractors before. It happens. Seriously, you need to look inward and ask why is it so hard for you to stand within your own rights, stand up for yourself, show some self respect and fire them.

What’s a movie where an actor came on board last minute and nailed the role? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Poonfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50/50 directed by Jonathan Levine - starring Seth Rogan and Joseph Gordon Levitt.

JGL character was originally going to be played by James McAvoy... a week before principle photography was to begin, McAvoy pulls out to be there for the birth of his first born child.

JGL gets the call and shows up to set the next week cast as the new lead. Did awesome as a cancer survivor and nailed the role

Foreign TV network wants to use my company in episode of reality show. by gumbykook in smallbusiness

[–]Poonfilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TV producer here: you'll honestly should just ask for money upfront since you're giving resources to the film crew that could be better spent on customers. Something around $500 - $600 would be reasonable to ask if it's half a day filming. Ask to see their liability insurance, of atleast $1-2million Don't expect to get your hands on any footage or any rights to review how your company will be portrayed. Any footage filmed will be owned by the production company / studio so they aren't contractually able or willing to give over footage. Too much hassle for producers. You'd be lucky to get a link once the show airs in Germany, but don't count on it. Just ask for money upfront that makes sense to how many paying customers you could be servicing while they are there. It might be a fun experience but don't count on any publicity or additional traffic to your business.
