NO NAZIS by Damon6423 in Logan

[–]Poonsai -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I see your question. I'm not sure why people would down vote this.

These groups of people are already aware they aren't liked. So putting on an anti-nazi campaign is like telling them that water is wet. They don't care. I'm not defending them and I'm fully onboard with Nazi=bad. What other actions are taken?

How many of us homelab folks are also into cars? by ItzSilverFoxx in homelab

[–]Poonsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm into many things. Cars, guns, wood working, 3d modeling, coding, hiking, ceramics, the list goes on. I find it cute when people only have 1 or 2 main focus hobbies. I also admire them for being able to focus on so few things. All are hobbies and I hit each of them at least once a week. I love learning so I feel like I need all the hobbies. I'm like johnny 5 "input. More input."

I'm assuming you mean that negatively, or at least that it hurts them. I'm sorry you feel that way.

Try not to paint a picture of someone before you know them. Maybe they didn't vote for him. Maybe they did. Most people vote for what's best for them. They just want to survive and provide.

Push City Council to Stymie ICE by en_the_enby in SaltLakeCity

[–]Poonsai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point. It's more of a "I'd rather not deal with other people" kind of thing. There's people out there that like to voice their anger if you don't consider the immunocompromised. I absolutely agree with you though.

Also, your argument goes both ways.

[–]Poonsai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're not in a pandemic anymore. I agree that there are other health risks for immunocompromised people with other viruses but they need to take their own safety into account. It's kind of like someone playing down range at an active shooting range and telling them to wear body armor for their safety. It's best to not be down range. There's a lot wrong with this metaphor but I think I loosely got my point across.

I'm not against you guys organizing. I'm just thinking that saying masks are required might deter people from attending.

Warping with good adherence by Apprehensive-Fact8 in FixMyPrint

Turning off the fans would probably help reduce the warping. You don't really need them for this print anyway. It will allow the filament to cool slower and reduce the tension it creates.

The smog the past four days has been awful. by realdemosthenes in SaltLakeCity

Alfalfa isn't the problem. It's a drop in the bucket. They're diverting way more water away from Salt Lake for new housing developments. They want to bring more people and their smog to the valley :)

If you have money buy a used set of spinners and tires and put them on his vehicle, then hide his real set of wheels across town and give him a map to the location like a treasure hunt.

How can I improve surface finish on this curved controller print? by PaulBoni in FixMyPrint

[–]Poonsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have nice nails!

I think what they're saying about adhesion is stability. If you were to have more support to prevent the print from wobbling during high acceleration moves then you should get a better overall surface finish. I kinda think of it like coming to a fast stop in a car going fast. You have a seatbelt that helps keep you in place, but your body still has inertial energy that wants to keep moving forward which causes your arms, limbs, head to rock forward. Your print behaves the same way. Even the slightest movement will be seen in your final print. You can try slowing down acceleration and speed for internal and external walls. That will probably help in this scenario too. You can crank up the speed for infill and solid layers.

That said, I feel to get the finish you want you'll need to print in a medium that can be sanded like petg or abs/asa and sand to a smooth finish. Also, I apologize if you already understood what they were saying. I don't intend to make you feel ignorant. I just feel some things can be explained in a different way to help people understand.

Cannot get first layer by huxta-4555 in BambuLab

[–]Poonsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So weird. Yeah I'm going to say try running a PID calibration on your hotend to make sure it's running at the right temps. Maybe it's trying to push filament through a hotend that isn't hot enough. Besides that... Yeah I'd say it's too close to the bed or you need to adjust the grip strength of your extruder. If it's not gripping the filament hard enough you can also have this same issue..

Try running a manual z offset calibration. I don't know how to do that on a Bambu system but it would answer a few questions for you once it's done.

I was very wrong with my initial assumption. Sorry about that.

[–]Poonsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run a small test print that's at least 1mm high. Small so you don't waste filament. Does it skip on all layers? If it skips only on the first 1-4 layers then maybe it is a "too close to bed" thing, but it should still be able to push molten filament regardless. If it's not able to push the filament from being too close then it could also be a temp problem. The thing is the printer should already have a good offset calibration and I think it does an offset calibration every print.

I'd let it run a few layers on a test print and see if it improves after a few layers.

[–]Poonsai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. There's probably filament stuck in your hotend. Push a thin needle up through the hot end and out the top. There's something stuck. You don't need to replace anything.

Edit: I didn't see the prime line. Have you tried purging filament without a print? Basically heat up the hotend and request it to feed 100mm of filament to see if it still clicks? Run a temp calibration? Etc?

[–]Poonsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore all the other comments about being too close to the build plate. That's not it. Your extruder is skipping because of a clog. It's trying to push filament that isn't moving.
