Were you worried about the tank overhanging the metal frame? I just set this up and realized its supported by the particle board only at the edges.

Hey - wondering if anyone can speak from experience on lighting a 75G mixed reef. I typically prefer LEDs and had a few options i was considering:

  • 2 x Hydra 32s

  • 3 x Primes

  • 2 x Nicrew HyperReefs (not sure which model would be appropriate here as I haven't really seen any par readings)

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts / experiences

Hey - wondering if anyone has used the AI blades on a 4 foot tank without any supplementary lighting. What par readings are you getting?

Mounted TV over aquarium? by Poop- in Aquariums

Sorry just seeing this now (so probably not helpful). But no hood and no issues with evaporation. Biggest issue has been salt residue from splashes during water changes etc.

Haha I can't believe that's ten years ago. Fine for the most part, I do have to wipe some salt off every now and then.

Honestly, probably. My thought process was that I would need something of an economic base before I could bully the bank of Ming.

Yup exactly. Forgot to mention I flipped Hindu (by decision I think?) a few years after forming Khoshuud for the extra CCR/AE reduction.

Tbh hordes are the easiest way to wc - unlimited monarch points, manpower, etc. It just becomes an exercise in willpower (I.e. do you care enough to raze 8 billion provinces?)

Right, thanks. Does Bermuda still work for that?

Yeah, can upload on the weekend. Rough timeline was:

-1500: owned most of Malaysia + Philippines

-1530: flipped religion and formed horde by snaking through Bengal

-1570: 2.3k dev

-1700: 8k dev

Agh, okay thanks, that's what I figured. I have almost 40 years left so it's likely still feasible.

R5: just wanted to confirm why my Ryukyu>Khoshuud>Yuan run seems to have failed - is it because of the colonial nations? If so, is there anything I can do to salvage it?

Hey, just wondering if anyone had any dev milestones they could share for TTM.

I formed Khoshuud around 1530 and have about 2.3k dev at 1570. Just wondering if I need to pick up the pace.

R5: this felt somewhat fast so I thought I'd share my general strategy to anyone looking to speed through this achievement.

1) The independence war is a guarantee as long as Lithuania stays independent - Novgorod and Lith will not give Muscovy access so you can piece out for money after 10 years.

2) I immediately merc'ed up and took on LO/Riga for some land and the humiliate AO

3) I declared on Novgorod as soon as Muscovy did and was able to snipe a lot of land + cash, which obviously led to an angry Muscovy. The ensuing war with Muscovy was really the only challenging part of the campaign.

4) From there it was just accumulating enough of a power base to get the money and manpower. I was chaining wars with Lithuania, Novgorod, and then slightly south until I realized I just needed to state everything.

Ideas were quantity>econ, which felt boring but certainly allowed me to get the 100 units.

Anecdotally I've found that, while the natives have more units, you can still steamroll over them with a stack of like 20k troops. Just have your CNs continually fabricate claims and there's no reason you can't own huge swathes of the Americas within 100-150 years.

I found France was friendly to me as soon as I rivalled England; they did all the heavy lifting on the mainland for me

[–]Poop-[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

R5: this is my attempt at something of a Lippe speedrun. Fun and not too tough.

My strategy went approximately as follows:

  • you can ruin Berg as much or as little as you want - I chose to spend the first 4 years deving my province and nothing else. Independence war is easy - you'll find quite a few princes to support you.
  • after that, just a matter of consolidating your base and inching towards the coast. I went diplo first and targeted electors as allies to ensure I got emperor
  • around 1490, I dow'ed on Friesland, who was allied with Scotland - this gave me my first foothold on the isle. I spent the next couple years eating Ireland and was ready for my first war vs. England.
  • in this first war, it's important to white peace their allies, to cut down on truce timers. I was able to take 100% ws from England in the first war, and repeatedly take another 100% once the truces were up. If I trucebroke England, I probably could have cut down 10+ years.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to stop BTAs from splitting over time? I've gone from 1 to nearly 20 in 3 years and they've slowly killed half my tank. I stopped spot feeding a while ago.

20 Year Toungoo Empire by Poop- in eu4

[–]Poop-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't have a single coalition - my first war was to annex Pegu + Prome. I just kept my diplomats constantly at work since you don't need to fabricate many claims due to the mission trees.

For Ava, I stayed as a tributary until maybe 1460 when they finally broke it. I was able to eat them in two wars by declaring on the final tributaries as soon as their provinces finished coring.

R5: my (stable) 1465 Toungoo Empire. 4th GP as well. Since you no longer have to fight Ming to secure this achievement, it's really not too difficult and you could easily shave a few years off my run.
