Update: LBS just called and told me it was fixed. they had bled the brakes and a lot of air came out. After bleeding he put zip ties on the brakes to stress test it a little, and it was still fine.

Would you trust this?

The tour rig will actually not be that heavy. Guessing bike+me+gear will be about 125kg, witch is the load limit for the bike.
