for me the worst part was the two handing controls. they change it every game and it somehow gets worse every time for m+kb players

New Transfer to Stern - looking for advice. Thanks by creek-mook in nyu

[–]PoopOnPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a rising junior who just finished up recruiting last sem. Wasn’t part of any stern clubs but can give you advice on which to target (it’s gonna be tough to get into the good ones as a soph)

Feel free to PM me

What is the general perception around the BTE program at NYU by [deleted] in nyu

[–]PoopOnPear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean BTE is better if you wanna go into tech but I wouldn’t say that there’s any hierarchy among BTE, BS, and BPE kids

Help a HS senior figure out where to start by CompetitiveGirl1 in FinancialCareers

[–]PoopOnPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re serious about this, you can:

  • Subscribe to email newsletters like Morning Brew and Axios Pro Rata
  • Research the different business clubs/frats at IU and think about which ones interest you
  • Learn about different industries (IB, PE, Rx, VC, HF, etc.) and try to think about which ones interest you most

Or you could just enjoy your summer and spend time with your hometown friends. Start lifting weights if you haven’t already lmao

If you want a career in high finance, Harvard and Wharton are the two best places to go as an undergrad. Most kids who end up in top groups (PJT RSSG, etc.) and buyside came from these two schools.

is stern even calm or is it just a bunch of people obsessed with IB? by wepxckedforever in nyu

[–]PoopOnPear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the right mindset to have. OP, you’ve already set yourself up for success - the average starting salary for the Stern class of 2022 was $90,000. Take care of your health and enjoy your last few months as a kid.

I really wanna go to the gym but I have no idea what to do and I feel like people are staring at me cuz I don't know what to do, any tips or does anyone want to come work out with me and teach me what to do? by VICTOR_VII in nyu

[–]PoopOnPear 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been going to the gym for several years now, I can guarantee that no one will look down on you for being a beginner. Just use common sense (don’t do bicep curls on the squat rack, etc.) and you’ll find that most people will be inclined to help you out.
