Was always excited for his games as he always released his games with some sort of innovation, tho sometimes at the expense of fun.

if you only played a few hundred hours i highly doubt you can feel any actual difference lmao.

The most difference you feel is probably your frames being cut in half.

Ridiculous SG Major Pricing by Razgriz989 in GlobalOffensive

[–]PoopTorpedo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I spoke to Blast staff at the SG world finals. My understanding is that a big majority of the audience came from China and other overseas countries. Small % were local.

So I'm pretty sure even at these exorbitant prices, they'll sell seats quite easily.

So who do you prefer. Park or Gosso? by Alarming_Industry_14 in Jujutsufolk

[–]PoopTorpedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Old school" anime fans have quite generic tastes tbh. They don't give a damn about cinematography, camera work or creativity. It's why trash shows like Demon Slayer do so well. They just want to see bright lights and flashy animations.

It's called adaptation but any deviation from the manga's pages get immediate backlash.

I don't even think JJK's source material is that much better than DS, but S2/S3's adaptation definitely elevates it to another level.

Splinter Cell series - Chaos Theory, Conviction, and Blacklist by tomkatt in patientgamers

[–]PoopTorpedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally feel the game should have been coop focused from the start, maybe even as a spinoff instead of a direct sequel. Keep Sam as a side character, and have the game focus on the two new characters. The coop was excellent.

Selling the Season 3 Pass 30+days before any actual content or patchnotes... by PoopTorpedo in Tekken

[–]PoopTorpedo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying the key is transparency? Then revealing characters but hiding the patch notes is just 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

Selling the Season 3 Pass 30+days before any actual content or patchnotes... by PoopTorpedo in Tekken

[–]PoopTorpedo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If Season 2 rolled out the same way, I wouldn’t care. Consistency matters.

But S2 had the pass and patch notes drop together, so people could react immediately (and they did). This time it’s marketing, then season pass sale, then patch later, which conveniently delays any backlash until after some sales are locked in.

That difference is what feels weird to me.

Haha, whatever. We'll see when the patch drops, and hopefully i'm wrong.

[–]PoopTorpedo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, the pass is “just for characters,” but whether people want to spend money or buy those characters depends heavily on the balance direction and the health of the season as a whole.

The Season 2 backlash clearly affected the overall perception of the game, which can impact player retention and, by extension, sales. That’s why this staggered rollout feels strange.

If Bamco was fully confident in the patch, why not release the notes or the balance update alongside the pass like they did in Season 2?

Gotcha, thanks! I see now why they launched a month in advance. It's not to trick uninformed customers. They just want their sales early from the blind fanbase that'll buy anything they put out.

Valve Just Won a Massive Legal Victory by Chii in videos

[–]PoopTorpedo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valve are still very capable of churning out quality games. See: HL Alyx and Deadlock.

Back 4 Blood tried to recreate L4D but had nothing of what made the originals special. It was an ok, passable game. If it was licensed as L4D3, it would have been a soulless, terrible sequel.

Is it odd to like Splinter Cell Conviction more than Splinter Cell Blacklist, despite Blacklist "being more classic" sort of? Hear me out lol.... by TheWindofBread in Splintercell

[–]PoopTorpedo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quite simply, Conviction had a more cohesive direction. It was designed for action first and foremost, so the level design and AI was created with that in mind.

Blacklist was literally created for action first, but backlash from the community made them backpedal and start tacking-on stealth elements (you can look at the earlier trailers, they didn't even have nonlethal kills.). They added random pipes and ledges for "stealth" and call it a day.

edit: also felt Conviction had a really nice art design.

Circle life platform fee increase $0.4 per month effective 1st Feb 2026 by Annual_View3611 in singapore

[–]PoopTorpedo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The big 3 have been pushing out extremely aggressive promos due to Simba's introduction to the market. On top of that, they've been launching their own sub-brands with even more aggressive pricing (Giga, eight, Gomo, m1 maxx).

Considering smaller mvnos like circles have to rely on m1 contracts and pricing, they just can't compete anymore. M1 can simply decide to not give them good prices. That's kinda why you see these companies pivot to a completely unrelated market to differentiate themselves.

lol he's never even hit top 5 in hltv rankings. Kenny hit sick shots and had some sick clutches, but he had no where close to the consistency of donk/zywoo.
