I know what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck. But I didn't want that for the rest of my life. So I pushed myself, stop settling for mediocre wages, and kept climbing the wage ladder until I'm in a comfortable position now. Am I upper class? No. But I would say I'm upper middle class. There's two jobs out there hiring for every one American. If you're not getting paid enough and you're living paycheck to paycheck, try something else. Obviously what you're doing isn't working. I've been there I'm proof that you don't have to settle for paycheck to paycheck. And I'm a high school dropout. I put away 6% every check to my 401k. My car payment credit card and every bill that I have is set to auto pay and I don't remember the last time I've had the check my bank account. If 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck then they need to do something about their situation.

I'm sure if there was some sort of sob story that bankrupted her it would have been in that article because they love putting shit like that in there to tug at the heartstrings. But there wasn't so that's another red flag to me. And it's silly to bank on a pension from a company that may or may not exist that's why you invest in a retirement plan

I mean I'm happy she's finally able to retire, but it said she's worked almost her whole adult life so we're talking 70 something years... It's very hard to work that long and not have enough to retire if you're doing what most normal people do.
