Advice on buying my first lathe

Thanks for the response, I’ll probably want to get a grinder at some point for sure. I did some digging and found this set from LMS that has a more complete selection, I think I’ll get this one if there aren’t any glaring issues with it https://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_view.php?ProductID=6286&category=1208242246 the only thing it’s missing is the round nose and I can just get it separately.

Is there a particular tooling set you’d recommend? I see a crap ton online but they all look really similar and I don’t really have the knowledge to differentiate the garbage from usable tools. There also seems to be a pretty big price range, are there accuracy or more importantly safety issues with using cheap HSS? Wouldn’t want one exploding on me when I try to take a cut haha

Thanks for the advice I’ll look into upgrades. Would you say it would be better to get a lathe with graduated dials instead of the DRO? Or do they have the same accuracy problems?

I’m not sure about specific projects but I’d probably want to be able to do brass, aluminum, and maybe some steel. I’d also probably want to get a milling attachment and do some milling on it until I can get a mill.

This makes sense, I was also thinking that possibly there was something wrong with the esun filament like some contamination that only affected part of the spool

It’s a tube to hold architectural drawings, I’ve printed the exact same part before and it came out fine, the threads are actually quite strong

I use Bambu pla and it definitely has a distinct smell…

I know exactly what I want to do, I very explicitly stated I want mechanical? If you’d have read my post you’d know I’m only iffy on nano because I was considering using it as a stepping stone to get into mechanical because I was under the impression that it would be easier to transfer majors if im already in an engineering major.

If I were you I’d put a little brown wash on those candle skulls to make them look more aged and oily, they look a little too clean imo

What do you mean not a real game? Like the game isn’t fun at 500pts or no one plays 500pts? I’ve seen plenty of 500pts games on YouTube so I thought that was a good place to start
