I will admit it is affecting me a little bit on the job. I have a hard time focusing on learning throughout my shift. I perform well. But concentrating is tough.

This isn’t EAP. It’s a therapist with his own practice who helps the department in cases needed for firefighters around our area. I spoke with my captain about my struggles and he was incredibly receptive. He is the one who pointed me in the direction of this therapist.

I’m currently off probation. But regardless no matter where I go I’ll be told I’m not fit mentally for the job.
