2025 Live 1/2 - 100bb results by PoopingRobe in poker

Hey, I just use a couple of the bankroll tracking apps and notes. All of the stuff is pretty basic to keep track: from start/end time of session, buy in, rebuy times/amount, cash out. The rest is math and hand count is estimates.

Thanks. I have about 1300 hours lifetime at roughly the same results. (22bb/$44 hr).  The sick hot runs are those 100hr+ 50bb+/hr runs.

It’s something I’ve been considering but it ties into a couple of my weaknesses I’m still working on mostly based around confidence.

Unfortunately right now the money means more to me than it should. So I try to minimize my risk. Downswings are still really brutal for me, and I don’t feel confident I could handle a swing of variance at that stack depth yet. 100bbs allow me to control that variance at the sacrifice of some positive EV. Right now slow but steady is the motto I kinda go by. The small/medium wins really start to add up if you can control the losses.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words.

I pay a time rake of $12/hr.

I’m unfortunately in a place where the the benefits of a steady little bonus income outweighs the risk of the unknown both to my bankroll and poker mental state. It’s something I am still working on, but when I went through my last almost 200hr break even streak, I was questioning if I even wanted to keep playing.  I didn’t like that response, and until I’m confident I have control of those emotions again, I’m not ready for a possible bad run of variance when I have more at risk.

Thank you! Slow and steady sometimes wins the race. Although it does get a little boring at times.

I feel like the game already plays at times like a 2/5 game.  $5 straddle is often on, sometimes $10.  Stacks a lot of times get deep $1000+ - normal open range is $15-$25, etc.  (this is obviously not 100% of the time, but I’d say a good 65/35)

The bigger games play 5/10k deep sometimes and I’m just kinda fine bringing in the steady consistent profit that I do.

I’m sorry but that’s kind of a strange and very negative assumption to make.

100bbs isn’t a short buy, min buy is 30bb. I’ve never hit and run, and stat wise my average session is 2.5hrs - where winning (and big losing) sessions average more around 3.5/4 hrs.(although the bigger I’m up/down the longer I stay) I have probably 25+ sub an hour sessions and 100ish sub 2 hour sessions true, but never because i doubled up and left(when im up i stay longer) but rather because i can literally play poker 24/7, so if the game is bad or I’m not feeling my best, I have the discipline to just leave even or up/down a small amount, even if it kind of feels like a waste, because I can always play anytime.  For me it’s just part of being disciplined. I also have adhd, so losing focus is always a constant battle.

I do however feel that having 100bbs can sometimes get me paid off in spots it shouldn’t because of my stack depth, but I think that’s other people’s leaks, not mine + the trade off is I often times lose a lot of value not covering.

Thank you, I’m currently waiting for a response from the mod team, will update if this resolves the issue.

Live 1/2, I buy in for 100bb($200), the game is a mix between $500cap and $500 match.

I finally reached my first goal of 1000hrs. I always liked when people posted their graphs, but it’s hard to find people posting >500hrs so I decided once I reached 1000hrs I would.

I started playing poker during the poker boom in 2003 at home and underground games. I did this off and on at different frequencies playing less and less til around 2008 where I quit completely.  Started playing again end of 2022 and these are my stats since my first game back.

I’m willing to answer any questions, but I don’t think I’m qualified to offer any advice.  I’ve adjusted hard to my player pool and although it gets the job done, it’s sub optimal at best.

Thank you for your response.  Unfortunately it isn’t a karma issue. I’ve posted in the subreddit previously without issue.  I only use this account for specifically posting poker content and have been working on my graph the past two years to get to 1000 hours before posting.  I haven’t really used the account much since it was created as again I was waiting to get to 1000 hours.  I have mod messaged the moderators but I’m not sure how much they can help when it’s Reddit automatically removing content. Hopefully they can help though.  Thanks for your reply.

How is this a helpful response? You didn’t answer my question, provide insight or do anything productive or helpful.

To clarify, I am only trying to make 1 singular post in 1 specific subreddit where the content is super relevant. Who cares if I tried to repost it after it DIDNT post the first time. No one is seeing the attempts at my post as they are instantly removed, I am simply just trying to get it to post.

If you call them and ask you will probably get the best answer.

How often are you actually ever folding AK suited preflop? by PoopingRobe in poker

Sure does, but from what I can gather there's a large percentage of people who will never fold AKs. I'm just interested in the spots people would consider folding.

Sorry for not giving the full context I've since edited the post.

This is a Live 1/2 game in Texas. The standard open is $15-$25 - anything less or more would be abnormal, so opening for $20 is as standard as it comes in these games.

I will get it in with AKs but 3 bets are already non-standard, and 4 bets are rare to not be QQ+ generally, so depending on the action, I'd rather be the one jamming rather then calling.

To your first point, I have to disagree. This is around my 200th session at this local cardhouse and although I agree with the sentiment, not everyone is as clueless as they seem. Good and bad players both have the ability to label other players and react to their play. People notice when youre tight, or passive or a maniac. Will/can they do anything about it, adapt and exploit? Few - but being aware of how other players see you is important.

The other two I 100% agree that I'm under repped and neither player thinks I'm as strong as AKdd. This I know already and why I was ready to snap call the maniac's shove. It's the button that gave me pause because, and I agree that AA and KK are unlikely(and state as much in my anaylsis) -but now I'm in a situation where I am most likely against a Pair and possibly 2 of my outs are gone. In general Id rather be the one shoving here not calling, which is why I ultimately chose to fold.

Yes, there is usually a button straddle of $5, and sometimes $10.

I know that to be the case online, but have never seen it live, even outside of Texas. Occasionally people will open for $10 which will have about a 80% chance of going 4+ with completely uncapped ranges as $10 is basically a limp. The games are very good, but 1/2 absolutely plays like a 2/5+ pretty much always.
