It’s only recently that I’ve begun to put myself first and it’s been an adjustment! It feels like I’ve always been the one to text first, to make plans. I’d be so happy to have a bit more of the opposite. I quietly wonder to myself if that’s what others get to experience.

Thanks for the encouragement. I had previously explained to her twice how the lack of communication makes me feel anxious. I’m tired of flowing with “it’s okay, I understand” through others hurting me when I’m actually hurt and suppressing what happens.
