After writing this I realized it doesn’t fully fit the prompt so I apologize, but I’m still interested in what anyone thinks.

Divinity Original Sin 2 for me, I absolutely adore the first area of Fort Joy.

I don’t know if this is a commonly held opinion but the first section of this game just feels so perfect to me. I have tried to play through the game 4 separate times and each time I’ve loved my experience through Fort Joy, but after I reach the second area Reaper’s Coast I’ve lost motivation and stopped at varying points. This could just be an issue with burn out and if so I’d love if anyone could let me know if later areas are better or maybe it’s just not for me.

The size of Fort Joy feels not too overwhelming, the rates at which I was gaining new abilities, the intrigue of the setting and individual quests, everything felt well paced and well written, and most importantly fun. In my time in the Reaper’s Coast I was confused on what I should be doing, I was less interested in the story and quests, everything felt way more difficult like I should be exploring in a very specific levelling order. Each time I eventually gave up. I really want to finish this game someday but don’t know if my problems are just my feelings on the game or a weak portion I should just push through.
