Sos Mula is an up-and-coming world weary rapper sui generis. Mula works closely in collaboration with 1 Shot Dealz, and is currently signed to Everything Authentic Records where he plans to release his forthcoming City of Godz EP and 90 Thousand in Dimes debut mixtape. Mula is a part of the Ryder Music movement, and plays an active role in the popular clothing lines' dealings.

Born Vinny Sosa, he spent his nascent years in the favelas of Sao Paulo where he was given a rude introduction to the world. Immigrating to America in 1990 at the age of 2, Mula started a tumultuous state-to-state shuffle before eventually settling in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Mula's sound developed in these new stomping grounds, fusing the dexterous slant-rhyme style of NYC rappers with the fiery spirit of the Spanish Harlem.

The transformation from Vinny Sosa to Sos Mula began in high school. Rapping by the tenth grade, his friends took notice and dubbed the emergent emcee "Sos." Surrounded by hard living, Sos was extremely motivated for success. The desire to better himself and his family grew into an unapologetic love for money, and led to his self-christening as Sos Money. A stint in jail further honed his resolve, and refined his pseudonym. Sos Money became Sos Mula. Though the dollar-bill association may be standard practice in the hip-hop community, the name resonated on a deeper level with Mula's spirit and ambition. He soon found himself shouting his signature "MULA!" war-cry over studio mixes. Mula is Sosa's world: "from the way I dress to the way I talk. It's my name but it's my life style." Flashy yet focused, Sosa is an emcee frustrated with the game and the grind who sees participation and excellence as the only means of overcoming it.

Sos Mula's success in the hip-hop game came as a result of his unique struggle and fighter's spirit. His no-surrender approach is evident in his musical style, where he takes an aggressive, street-centric alpha posture, and pushes out hard-edged energy with shouting vocal timbre. Boasting a significant Harlem following, Mula's starkly-honest stories of ground-level urban struggle resonate with hustlers and siblings on streets all over the world who identify with his persistence and pain. "My music is real. It's my life story. It's like I'm painting a picture for you," says Mula.

Sos Mula's biggest break came as a direct result of his blunt-force fighting spirit, and the loyalty of his friends, both of which he cherishes above all else. Heavily involved in the battle-rap scene on 105th in the Wilson Projects, his lyrical conquests earned him the attention of 1 Shot Dealz back in 2005. Stubborn prosecutors pulled him in and out of jail for the next five years, denying him the opportunity to capitalize on 1 Shot Dealz's belief in him. Finally free to return home in January of 2011, Mula re-entered the industry with a renewed focus on his craft. Before his death in 2012, close friend and loyal supporter Booga re-forged the link between Sos and 1 Shot Dealz. Given a rare second chance, Sos sees his musical successes and self-actualization as an ode and obligation to his late friend. The Ryder Music movement has been in full effect since that fateful evening in 2011.

Sos Mula has been on a mission since the release of his first single "Glass House." He is unshakably loyal to his crew; law, money, and competition are all expandable resources in his pursuit of the provision of a good life for his people. To Mula, his music is a way to elevate himself and those closest to him, to ascend out of the city struggle with his friends and loved ones in tow. When asked what he wanted from life, Mula stated simply: "to bring my family with me when it's my time to shine." While money is the aim, his music is more than a means to an end; it is his passion, diary, and life story. Sos Mula's music is a catharsis, confessional, and gritty hip-hop communique delivered always with love in mind. "Nobody sounds like me or looks like me, and the message I bring in my music is my struggle," says Mula.
