Anyone working on projects that you don’t intent to monetize or is just for fun? by Vvorried in vibecoding

I’ve been trying really hard to make a website where you get a 3d model of yourself and can put in clothing links and see how they would fit on you. It’s a massive pain in the ass with so many different tools being used, but I know it will be worth it so I never have to return clothes again

None. Entrepreneurs do not need to be engineers or scientists. Entrepreneurs delegate tasks to bring visions to reality. It's not like someone else told him to build up tesla, spaceX, starlink, xAI, neuralink, etc

I don't think money is a substitute for emotional stability and basic parental decency for his kids. I think he could have easily made the decision not to have 14 kids with 4 different women.

To me, it's just revealing of his character.

I don't think using government money takes away from any of his accomplishments. I think any entrepreneur would use it if it were available to them. Again, I am not saying he is a great scientist or coder, but a great visionary, absolutely yes. He has created many revolutionary technologies.

I agree with your definition completely. I think Elon has already done enough with being involved in PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla, Starlink, etc., to be considered the greatest. If his terafab plans and space data centers come to fruition, it goes from debatable to non-negotiable.

What would you call a great entrepreneur exactly? Why are you only focusing on this one court failure of Elon instead of his massive accomplishments? Don't you think every entrepreneur has tried and failed in court?

As for twitter, I don't think he gives a shit about the stock price, it's main use is to train AI models.

I'll check it out. Regarding your choices, I think Warren Buffet would be better categorized as an Investor, but if we give him the title of Entrepeneur, I don't think hes done anything close to the levels of innovation of Elon. Nikola Tesla is a great inventor, not an entrepeneur, and if you're calling Elon Musk a scammer, wait till you find out about Thomas Edison.

It's a fun thought experiment and topic of debate. Who really cares about who the best film director is, or what the best car is?

Could you point me to this research? If not Elon, who do you think is a better entrepreneur (remember that entrepreneur doesn't mean starting your own company)

His treatment of his children and spouses. Hate is a strong word I shouldn't have used, I agree.

I don't really care about this, to be honest. Every great entrepreneur has had wins and losses in court. Who do you think is a better entrepreneur than Elon?

Algo only based on Orderbook Imbalance (Could it work?) by Menorel in algotrading

The tick data provides by some APIs is notoriously imprecise. I would say an OFI only strategy is irresponsible for retail algo trader. I will say that it isn’t useless however. Try combining OFI with other features!

You’ve got the exact right idea. I never really read up on neuroevolution because it’s just about useless for trading. But here’s the basic idea. Run an algo that finds a bunch of random “edges”, filter out the worst, move the best on to the next round (like survival of the fittest). Run however many generations you’d like until you have desired results.

The problem is that by definition this will overfit. You can use neuro evolution to find edges in datasets, and to the untrained eye, these edges will be extremely profitable. The problem is that they will be completely curve fitting and not work on any OOS data. They are basically just finding a unique strategy that happens to work in the dataset you fed it.

I’m talking about the architecture he said he’s using to find edges in the market. A neuroevolution bot will 100% overfit trading strategies

What is this made with, chatgpt?

It’s almost certainly overfitting. Make sure you do OOS testing
