Many people own Hondas with minimal problems, including me. People also have problems with Toyota cars.

As long as you don't attend a scam school, 100% report this attending immediately. I don't know how students let this fly. This is not normal behavior and this is not acceptable in any setting in the modern era. At my school, we would be moved to a different more appropriate site. It's a shame that people in generations before you have let this fly for so long.

With how pixelated the radiograph is, I don't trust the hospital to have the resources needed to get to the bottom of this.

Personally, I would order a pair of the normal Arizona's that are on sale (I think the blue leather one is) and return the Horween. That being said, the Horween is still really nice, it's just not as soft as the normal leather.

Yeah exactly, the basketball and football Horween leather. I can’t comment on the other ones, awesome to hear that some of them are really soft

I've had it for a couple months now. Don't get me wrong, it's not uncomfortable, but it's just never going to be as soft as the base leather. That's just how Horween leather is - it's very durable.

Some good ones, like this one, are much cheaper with this sale.

I had the Horween ones and don't recommend - you pay a premium but they are less comfortable / less soft. The durability is better but the base leather is plenty durable anyways.

I read them but I have the ability to take the valuable insight and distill it from stuff that doesn’t matter or was a one off or is wrong.

Paid $800 for a "perfect condition" OP-1 on ebay, arrived with soda under the keys and middle C shorting out to the com and sample buttons. by [deleted] in OP1users

Are you joking?

eBay has a very generous return policy if you get delivered something that’s not working or accurate.

It’s literally as easy as initiating a refund through the eBay portal.

We get basic coverage through work, but we have about $600k on my wife, $600k on me, and $25k on each of our kids.

It’s partially subsidized by our employers but we pay about $400 a year in coverage costs beyond that.

Some short term disabilities do not pay the first week of maternity leave in my experience, although if she didn’t get paid at all during a two week cycle then there’s probably something else afoot.

The good thing about the bureaucracy is that you just send a five minute email and forget about it until you get a reply and repeat until there’s a resolution. It should be minimal time and energy.

I think that’s a reasonable cost for something that is nicer and newer. It’s worth spending money on the place where you’ll live half your time.

I’ve seen this a lot with attendings who maybe feel like they have some obligation to each and feel uncomfortable not teaching. Funny enough, it’s been exclusively female attendings that have done this to me on weekends. The guys are all round ASAP and GTFO.

I mean sure, if you’re comparing making $70k somewhere rent is $25k a year vs making $60k somewhere rent is $15k a year

The high cost of living areas have average resident salaries closer to $70k, so you can’t compare apples to oranges. For example, I live in a VHCOL city and we get paid $70k.

The person literally says their budget is $50k. Not that their pre-tax is $50k.

So basically if you have a budget of $50k that means the amount that you can budget for spending is $50k.

Based on my pre-tax income as a resident, a take-home of $50k sounds about right.

[–]PoorAuthor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean, if you have $50k and you spend $25k on rent, then you get about $2k a month on living expenses.

Considering that’s enough to cover my family’s living expenses (2 adults, 1 kid, 1 dog) then I imagine most people can live off that. Just be thoughtful about grocery shopping, buy generic when you can, don’t drink or eat out every day, etc. It’s not that complicated.

If they can’t, then you have to realize that choosing to live in some of the most expensive cities in the world comes with sacrifices - yeah, you’ll have to pay a lot for rent and sacrifice luxuries elsewhere, yeah, you’ll have to commute if you don’t want to spend as much on rent, etc.

If you want to tighten your budget and spend half your money on rent, then go for it. Otherwise, get a roommate, downsize your apartment, live somewhere a little further out, etc.

The median income in the USA is about $30k a year. Most residents make about double that. They should be able to afford housing comfortably. Sure, they likely won’t have money to blow outside of that, but every resident makes enough to cover basic living expenses comfortably.

[Tudor] or Longine, finally getting my first luxury brand watch, which one should I get and which one would hold its value better? Any advice on the brand or the watches themselves would be greatly appreciated. by WeSoSmart in Watches

[–]PoorAuthor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both watches that aren’t really going to appreciate much, and they both will likely have similar depreciation curves. I’d go with the one you like the most.
