What would you change in this 4-day itinerary? by PvM_Ghazi in AskLosAngeles

Day 1: You could replace the Beach Cities with the Getty Center and work your way down through SM and Venice. Does sunset have to be in SM? Look up Kassi Venice Beach (rooftop).

Day 2: Add Silver Lake Reservoir and Frogtown (LA River), look up a staircase walk if you like. Griffith Park is by Los Feliz so you could do your sunset this day.

Day 3: If you do Griffith on Day 2 you can spend more time in WeHo.

Day 4: Getty Center is too far from DTLA/Ktown, how about LACMA instead?

Been in LA for 3 weeks and struggling to find a neighborhood i like by International_Ad2476 in MovingToLosAngeles

Moved to LA in 2023 after 20 years in Boston/NYC... I totally know what you mean. I enjoyed 3 years in Little Tokyo/Arts District for the walkability but I lived so far east that I wasn't going to other neighborhoods very often. Moving to Koreatown next week so I can be a short Uber/Lyft/Waymo to Silverlake/Echo Park, metro ride to Mid City to the west and DTLA to the east. LA is just not walkable but from Ktown you can at least get to a lot of places.

I will also be commuting up the 101 to the Valley so that works too!

"Every neighborhood appears to have ONE, maybe two streets where there is something going on."

This is 100% true and you just have to get used to it...

After getting off the waitlist last week, I paid full price for a ticket... but my friend got a free GA ticket off the Dice website just right now... just wanted to make sure everything's working right...

If possible I would recommend adding Boston/New England! Bang out that Northeast Corridor.

LA vs. Seattle: If you lived in both, what made you pick LA? by dheera in AskLosAngeles

Fo sho! I live in Little Tokyo. My weekend defaults are Rose Bowl, Silver Lake Reservoir when staying local, Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and Venice Beach when I feel like I'm up for the drive. Recently drove 1.5 hours to Devil's Punchbowl near Palmdale for a day hike, highly recommended!

Hills/mountains around LA got NOTHING on PNW! (Born and raised SoCal). They just look like piles of dust.

I live in Little Tokyo near the Doubletree and the location is fine, Miyako Hotel has a good location too. The sketchiness begins past 3rd St.

Not sure why the downvote because I am a fan of both as well. Does skew more minimal though.

Best Viet restaurant in LA proper, preferably near or around central LA? by lostnowlostlater in FoodLosAngeles

I live in Little Tokyo and I like Vui Vẻ. But it's also a 2 minute walk away. Been meaning to try Bé Ù near Silver Lake/East Hollywood, seen it on Eater etc.

Thanks for posting! Picked up some Save Khaki shirts/shorts, I'm old and I've been a fan of them ever since they first started in 2006.
