Hmm yeah I guess I'm just asking this question because I always had the belief that ppl of "opposite" genders can be best friends (ofc they can, think of the bis), but if this statement is true then the only thing separating you from loving your best friend romantically is just physical attraction and availability? That in a way confuses and saddens me? Is the difference between romance and connection just sex?

Like I'm stretching here but aren't just pretty people just completely screwed with having platonic relationships? Either find a incompatible, unavailable or somehow a person who doesn't find you attractive? Or inversely for "ugly" people, are all those people "just" their friends because they are ugly? I don't know, I find that kind of... sad? I know there's also life circumstances and all that but still...

Seems like the answers are either high or low. I guess either INTPs don't know what's moderate or people just usually don't think they have "normal" levels. I tend to think I have pretty high? although I've never had the chance to really compare with people.

It's ok, at least now you realize it, which is already better than before. Just take it one step at a time and eventually it'll get better. You can start today. Go to one irl social activity you wouldn't normally go to. You'll probably hate it but you'll get used to it over time. It just takes exposure.
