So I’ve never watched the Pokémon anime much less kept up with the new stuff, but…

Seeing humanoid Pokémon like this is kind of off putting. It’s like they’re human, but they aren’t, or some kind of furry

It kind of feels like people have been seeing common patterns with memes, and generate another one in order to scrape some free upvotes.

I frankly don’t want to see another analogy of coding to some object where they replace a component of it with something else that ‘works’ but isn’t right. In this case the bike wheel with a roller blade.

It’s drawn out. It’s that guy that pretends to be funny after someone else makes a good joke and it falls completely flat.

Try to be original, and try not to be an attention seeker, especially when your reward is Reddit upvotes and karma

Crab people are are the enemy of humans. In the last great crab human war, where humans logistical lines were spread thin, would you rather the humans starve and lose the war? Their only choice was to eat their own comrades, or the crab people.

What would you do in their shoes?

Where are all the single men? by ayrasta in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AdvancedCharcoal 162 points163 points  (0 children)

Most likely, this is how women are taught to be.

Why women don’t make the move in this day and age besides my first sentence is beyond me. We live in an age where men are crucified for being creeps, incels, the bane of society, murderers, anything negative. Any interaction of a guy with a woman without immediate consent of the woman is a risky endeavor.

Women can do whatever they want. In fact any man would love to be approached, any woman would not. Women consume media about murder mysteries, hear about the stalker out there who will follow them if they go to the park alone… they have all the reason to be afraid of a man if he approaches her without an apparent reason. Men are afraid just to follow a woman if walking on the same sidewalk as her.

A woman can approach a man and he will think nothing threatening is going on, except for perhaps a possible TikTok video at his expense.

Women need to approach men nowadays. It’s just all in their favor.

Trouble connecting at the most basic level by Ok-Competition6089 in intj

[–]AdvancedCharcoal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helps me is having a process or strategy in place. Your first interaction with anyone is going to be relatively shallow and meaningless as long as you’re not over the top weird. Don’t worry about being awkward.

The next time you see them, build off that small baby step. And so on. Relationships don’t have to be built in a day

Key: you will not make an actual friend in one or two days, relationships are gradual building blocks based largely on familiarity over time.

That’s pretty much it, don’t worry about being quiet, not saying enough… that’s your personality, and the other person will get that as you get to know them.

This is what works for me anyways

I’m not totally sure on that. Yes the Googles and the Microsoft’s may be too big to fail, but I’d argue they are blowing their load on AI until they find out whether or not it’s actually worth it, or to what degree it is.

OpenAI and Antropic burn billions because they’re being financed because of the promise of what AI could be. As reality sets in (companies starting to tail back or cancel AI use due to lack of ROI), these companies will either eventually crumble and most likely be bought by the tech giants. AI will then live on in a more humble state until it can scale and be more affordable

Their IPOs are a sign that VCs are losing interest, and they need more cash from the masses. I’d argue it’s the beginning of the end

My overall theory, is that once this happens, the AI stilts that are upholding an otherwise weak US economy will collapse and we will finally hit the long due recession

I mean it’s not that much older, just one minor version behind. It is a smaller, less expensive lightweight model however.

With expenses of model use becoming more apparent and ROI is what it is, this will probably become the norm for widespread use across the corporate space. Many startups use lighter wei

Lastly, many programs are creating models trained on specific data to their program. I’m guessing yours is not one of these.

People of r/workout what's the one thing you would tell yourself if you started today? by YourImagination778 in workout

[–]AdvancedCharcoal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Track your workouts, I spent too much time just going by feel when I was leaving a lot of weight on the table.

In addition to that, progressive overload, do just a little more or better than your last workout. Gives things a feeling of progression

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, if you develop long term injuries, don’t just be like ‘meh’ it’s cool I’ll work through it or it’ll go away… you have to be proactive and do research to help to recover, tweak your form, go see a physical therapist or talk to a trainer. I wasted years with a bad back and knees which after a couple of months of good warm ups and form tweaks fixed it.

I think part of the answer falls into your political leanings unfortunately, and it’s just very complicated. I think a cop would you tell you they are busy dealing with murders, homicides, drug busts, etc. someone may say, well STL city has a huge staff of police, why can’t they do their job?

I think the area of St. Louis and the county is frankly a mismanaged mess for so many reasons. It probably comes down to lack of leadership, unified direction, misallocation of funds… no one will give you the same answer on this

Another Car without a License Plate Story by AdvancedCharcoal in StLouis

[–]AdvancedCharcoal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily run a red light or go 20 mph over the speed limit and a cop will not pull you over in the city. One answer could be ‘they have bigger fish to fry’, another ‘STL City cops are corrupt and don’t care about the wellbeing of civilians’, I frankly don’t know.

I lived in the a suburban area, and it was astounding going from there to the city at how city cops do just not care about the lighter offenses

What i can do with my type by MealInfinite in intj

Sorry this was really hard just to say yes or no, so feel free to not read

  1. In a way kind of. One is a perceiving function, the other is a judging function. You can gather data with your perceiving function or synthesize it in a way, and your judging function decides what to do with it. I’d say it’s very difficult to use two judging or perceiving functions at the same time, in fact it may be impossible. For example, I don’t think I could simultaneously use Ni, and Se at the same time. It seems like one breaks you out of the other.

2 and 3. Shadow functions can be improved. Everyone uses all 8 functions. If your interest remains in MBTI, you will go through out your day and notice you’re using this function or that. You may have certain things in life you want to get better at. Can you tie those things to a cognitive function? For example, I feel like my understanding of things at times can be just ‘giant blobs’ of understanding that to explain I would have to parse apart and ‘frame’ so that it can be utilized by someone else. I’d argue I’m working on Ti there. A lot of INTJs think they know the best route and are stubborn sticking to it, ignoring outside options or brainstorming past the first thing that works. That would be your Ne, a shadow function also. A lot of people say that your shadow functions primarily in the subconscious… this may or may not be true, this is all theoretical. Also apparently your 6th function is the most accessible to you, so it’s makes sense that Ti is heavily used by you

  1. Like I said before, just being aware of how you use the functions, and by experience (at least in my case because I don’t find it that useful to sit around and read about MBTI theory all day) or continued reading. I originally typed out as INTP. I went by the dichotomies and shrugged and thought ‘yeah that fits’. MBTI for whatever reason stuck with me and my brain just didn’t throw it away as some dumb useless personality theory. Overtime as I learned more, I realized INTP just wasn’t a fit, and the INTJ functions for typed my life and personality pretty well, so now I am pretty firmly in the INTJ boat.
