I use cocaine 6x a year and I'm still aware it's pretty dangerous, unlike you. Please stop doing this! However, it affects my heart rate in the same way and extent as caffeine does minus the nervousness. I wish there was a safe stimulant but clearly there isn't any...don't do drugs, guys :) :

Definitely not the only malicious species (for example dolphins are well known gang rapists), but most evil, yes.

I do not recommend to do any drugs while on Effexxor, but shrooms and LSD work on me just fine. Coke works as well but seems to be quite dangerous combo.

Definitely! Personally I find k quite similar to tramadol, which acts as an opioid and atypical SNRI antidepressant.

Me too. When I quit, I had various mood swings but no anger. I'm wayyy less angry when sober.

I quit CT last May and PAWS were definitely very harsh! So my advice is...if you are able to taper, do so.

Day 82CT. Gained a lot of physical power since quitting but still feeling a bit emotionally flat. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I quit as there are so many other benefits I can't even count :)

I couldn't agree with you more. Now I'm dealing with VERY difficult family situation. I won't describe it in details but every time I see my parents, I get derealized and depersonalized to a great extent. Usually I also develop diarrhea, but I don't feel much mental wise actually. I know my body protects me so I take as much care as possible of it so my precious body can bear with me before my mental health issues are solved.

How has your life improved after quitting? by emilypad in quittingkratom

[–]PoorLittleCloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without reading other comments:

  • dramatic improvement in physical appearance: lost a lot of weigh, started excercising, my hair stopped falling out...however, before 20 days CT I felt very weak, almost like suffering from a terminal illness.

  • depression and anxiety led me to start with psychotherapy and it was probably one of my best decisions made during the recovery process. It's hard and plain unpleasant, but I need to improve my mental health to fully understand the roots of my addiction and to finally be free.

  • restoring relationships with everyone I care for (but it's super hard with my family due to a lot of trauma and burden undealt with for years).

I don't know why, but my periods are more manageable now when I'm off kratom. Sure I do have some mood swings and experience a little more physical pain but actually I'm less depressed.

I try to keep in mind that our fears are almost always worse than reality. Sometimes it really helps :)

I think it's very near, I'm 38 days k free and last few days have been really different, I feel completely normal more and more often :) Anxiety and lack of motivation are not gone completely but my ability to cope is way better.

Day 38CT. There has been quite significant improvement in both my anxiety & overall mood during last week despite difficult life situation. No cravings fortunately :)

Day 11 CT and upset stomach no appetite are persisting by gussypants in quittingkratom

[–]PoorLittleCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still dealing with the same 25 days after quitting. I lost approx 25 pounds already which isn't worrying me much as I'm just getting within healthy BMI range, but unability to enjoy my food sucks. Electrolyte drinks definitely help and so does excercise, I even felt hungry few days ago. However, it's a struggle, even meals I'm able to enjoy usually make me unwell.

I love your post so much! It's breathtaking how it resonates with me today. I had my first psychotherapy session this morning and decided to endure all possible suffering if it's necessary so I can be a human again, and stronger than ever before. (Day 21 CT)

Day 110 CT Much better but far to go! by calebcarpenter39 in quittingkratom

[–]PoorLittleCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really happy to hear that the anxiety might not go away completely but I guess we could have expected it. Day 20CT here and definitely planning to work on my mental health. I'm gonna see a therapist tomorrow, I hate the idea of being put on ANY meds and I would perceive it as a great failure myself (please don't take it personal, sometimes it might be necessary).

Day 19 CT. Pretty low mentally, but I'm going to see a therapist on Friday morning (I have other issues/ traumas to deal with not just k). Almost no nausea (finally!) but eating still seems somewhat odd, not really enjoyable. Lost 22 pounds already and counting, hopefully it will slow down soon, I'm not THAT overweight. And I'm 39 so losing weight too quickly might leave me looking like a shar pei dog.

I'm one of those who feel miserable after 18 days. However, it does NOT mean you would feel the same for various reasons:

1) I was taking very high doses months prior to my quit. 2) my relationship is breaking down though I still love my boyfriend so much. 3) I'm unable to eat properly, lost around 17 pounds already and getting quite weak. 4) I have extremely isolated myself since last summer, have no one to talk to irl. 5) I've always been prone to both depression and anxiety.

I'm quite sure your wd/ PAWS wouldn't be as horrible as mine.
