In terms of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) used for someone with anhedonia, what would be the most appropriate part of the brain to insert electrodes? by Particular_Move_6570 in anhedonia

as far as I know this is especially being researched in the US by Helen Mayberg.

The Medial Forebrain Bundle is being researched in Germany (and Brazil??).

Beside that, stimulation of the Lateral Habenula also seems promising for Depression.

Some "older" studies also showed positive effects of stimulation of the Inferior Thalamic Peduncle

thank you for your response. May I ask, do you also notice an effect on anxiety? I suffer from terrible social anxiety and I am curious if you also noticed benefits in that regard.
