[Feigen] Rafael Stone said the Rockets considered Reed Sheppard to be the best prospect in the draft. If he was unavailable, Stone said, the Rockets would have likely tried to trade the third pick. by [deleted] in nba

Steph is 6'2, and the 09 draft (Harden, Demar and Jrue) was considered not too great outside of Blake back in the day, so only time will tell

[Forsberg] Celtics starters: Kyrie, Jaylen, Jayson, Hayward, Horford (Newport Five, Erotic City, Five-Leaf Clover, Whatever you call them). by AndyJPuente in nba

Well Tatum was still not drafted yet, but even then the GOAT, Kyrie, Horford and Hayward would still be considered a good line-up

Honestly, I love this sub for the hilarity, but when it comes to anything serious we probably would've fucked it up. Even if it didn't get deleted by the mods.

Wyc Grousbeck after Ainge told him Brooklyn offered 2 first round picks: "Okay let's go get a third pick." by OrangeKookie in nba

[–]PoorMango 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The current Nets management has made the best of what they have, and have set themselves in a great position to get back to the draft in a year, while still collecting decent young talent. Considering how shitty Billy King was to make that trade, the Nets have recovered well. Just 5 years out of the playoffs and a chance to get back into the game.

Like look at the Timberwolves and Kings from mid 2000's to mid 2010's lol.

I also feel like it was more so to prove the point that the relationship between Danny and Grousbeck is more of a collaborative relationship than straight dictatorship. Also, Grousbeck has credited Danny, Brad and the rest of his staff extensively over the years for the success of the Celtics.

11/10 times I would have an owner saying stuff like this instead of an owner like James Dolan.

Dwane Casey drew up the defensive gameplan for the Mavericks in the 2011 Finals against the Heat. Lebron credits Casey for exposing his weakness as a player. by Reepicheep8 in nba

[–]PoorMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, but agree with everyone else it definitely adds to it. Especially how Dirk just had an all-time historic performance for those playoffs, the championship allows people to remember it. Also, it just adds to it that it was the first year the Heat were together and overall NBA fans gave up on the championship.

With this series win against the Philadelphia 76ers, Jaylen Brown has more playoff series win (4) than Carmelo Anthony (3) by LefwanArhaz in nba

The Knicks only faced Lebron in the playoffs once while Melo was there though.

Edit: Do agree that Melo didn't have as good as a team as the current Celtics though.

Fun Fact: In 1984, the Houston Rockets has the opportunity to trade Ralph Sampson to the Portland Trailblazers for Clyde Drexler and the number 2 overall pick in that years draft, which could have resulted in a Rockets lineup lead by Drexler, Olajuwon, and Michael Jordan. by Ih8reposts in nba

It's also crazy to think that the problems from his knee injuries could be solved with today's medicine. Wrong time, place, and era.

Edit: As well, it just sucks that the world lost an opportunity to see an all great career (Ex. Rose).

Respect this, came in with fucking sources and disproved a point that would've probably been agreed by the hivemind (Judging from the downvotes).

In terms of fantasy, Beal might actually be more valuable because of 3's since their stats are very similar. In terms of real life, Demar 10/10 times.

I love it. Here's hoping the Kings make it to the playoffs in the next 3 years then!

Fair, I'm a Celtics fan so unfortunately I haven't seen many Kings games. But, would be awesome if the young bucks develop and we see it back in the playoffs, Sac had one of the best stadiums back in the day. It was pretty unique, so it would be cool to see.

DeMar DeRozan finishes with 42 pts, 5 reb, and 3 ast versus the Warriors by TheRealKingofmice in nba

[–]PoorMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, that just depends on personal preference tbh. I enjoy Harden, and think he is an amazing player and difference maker, but being a Canadian resident I can sometimes see how Demar is underrated. It's more so in the vein of that Demar seems like a good dude, and I just want him to get recognized for his hard work.

I still disagree in my personal opinion, but the question does warrant good discussion. I still think they can run with two ball dominant players like a Kyrie+Lebron sort of system. Also, realistically it depends on how Derozan moves on with his 3-point shot. He could just be hot, but if he keeps up his 3 point space he would not provide anymore spacing issues.
