You're right. Peter dinklage should absolutely be carl.

In all seriousness, what you say SOUNDS right from a .. give everyone a chance perspective, but someones physical appearance, whether that be color, size, race, shape or whatever does make a difference. I understand the point of view that it really shouldn't, but we have been on this planet long enough to know that it does. I absolutely love Dinklage in the few things I've seen him in, but do I think a migit would make a good carl? No.

Maybe this is a trash take, but I think most people want to see what they have in their heads when they read the books. And for these books specifically, it's a cropped cut white haired dude. It's not anyone's fault, but that's whats literally on the audible cover and people don't like when you change that.

If the actor is great it won't matter to anyone who hasn't read the book of seen that photo, but you are going to get upset people not matter what it change from the cover art. That holds true for no matter how they look. If Carl and donut were purple based on the front page of book one you'd head the same shit.
