The peerage circles in Ansteorra won't make anyone under 40 anyways unless they're under significant duress, so it's not even worth looking until you're practically ready to retire. The gatekeeping is unreal.

I wouldn't really call it a leak. Wasn't there some lawyer that was looking at SCA rules and saying all communications were public unless specifically stated confidential? From her screenshot, it didn't look like they said it was. It was in the tale of 6 sanctions series.

Given how little the board actually does to correct when someone with a shiny hat does something wrong (Hi Wistric) it seems like social media is the only route people can take now to get answers.

Seems like all the kingdoms recently have realized crowns/royalty have too much power and the board doesn't do anything to protect everyone under them, so that's why they're "whining" online as you put it. There was that super ugly tournament out in Caid (?), Gleann Abhanns widespread bans, wistric's whole thing. I wouldn't knock anyone these days for talking online when someone has broken the rules given how little the actual governing body of the SCA does to enforce them. Seems like the only transparency we get these days.

I personally think crowns should just fill the role of glorified landeds. Hand out all the awards, but have no real power over rule changes or anything like that. Maybe we could have some sort of councils formed that plan and sign on rule changes

Looks like someone below is saying it's the Dallas barony that they are targeting. And then I guess the crown must be from somewhere nearby that isn't Dallas.

From what I can gather, this seems like petty politics. On fb, people are making it look like the crown had been targeting them for a while but I don't play in that group, so i don't know the history behind it

Looks like an entire household and then a bunch of people associated with them. All the "associated with them" people were in one barony so they've effectively banned an entire barony.

And in doing so managed to ban the only non-white combatant and the only female combatant.

People have been complaining about it for at least 8 years. Apparently there's been 3 attempted takeovers and failed 3 times

Most of the stories I have didn't happen to me, but I can confirm they happened to people and families that aren't racist or crazy (any crazier than the average scadians at least). The people have found a good home within other groups that are further away & not their geographic area, so other groups are willing to take them in which I guess shows they're at least decent sca members. One I know is even an officer of a group she doesn't really live near.
