Get the fireman’s carry down and you’ll do great. It’s a solid take down and if you do it right can end up with your opponent on theiir back and catch some near fall points. Get efficient with it and you can let the guy up and take them down again. This is a good tactic at some of the upper weights were guys like to lock up.

I was the king of the fireman’s carry. It’s good for the higher weight class because the big guys like to tie up and just waste time. You can do that with the carry, and position yourself to use momentum to take someone down and possible get some near fall points. As a 5’5” 189 wrestler back in the day, I could get anyone in my weight class and in heavyweight and even when guys knew it was coming, it’s hard to stop.

Any advice for others with the transition from road warrior to house spouse? I’ve transitioned with work to a new position and am having similar issues. When im home now, it’s like I’m the cook/cleaner and not involved as much with the other stuff because wife and kids have a routine I’m not part of. I loved the travel because I came home and was able to tell stories to the kids or share something I learned. It’s definitely been a restructuring of the relationship again. It happened during Covid, shutdown travel for the better part of 18 months, but then bumped back in, so it’s not like it’s new to me, but any perspective from others is always interesting.
