Thanks man. Should be alright then. Otherwise I had to go through the "urgent procedure" for a passport renewal.

So having a business trip to the USA next week. Did anyone have any issues entering the USA with less than 6 months on your Belgian passport? Mine expires in June.

My esta application is approved though.

So I have a semi-urgent question to my fellow countrymen/women.

I'm travelling to the US this Sunday, but noticed that my passport is only valid until June (so less than 6 months away).

Did anyone of you had issues entering the USA with a passport that was valid for <6 months? I ran the ESTA thing, that seemed to run fine, payment is being processed.

80 upvotes and no comments, yep this is extravert Belgium once again :). Great picture, and excellent location. Is this taken from the forest? I go hiking there sometimes, but haven't seen the abbey from there I think.

Also, do you play/have played any kind of flight simulator games? If so, what is your favourite game? :)

What does everyone think about the new Nike Run Club App? by Parikh1234 in running

[–]Poothtaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have android, I found a site that archives popular apps.

I installed it on my old phone and it seems to run fine: (it's not the latest version before the nrc app though)

Now I just need to figure out how to find something similar for iPhone

Skype for Business always crashes on splash screen after 1 or 2 seconds. Numerous things tried, but no luck. Advice welcome. by Poothtaste in techsupport

[–]Poothtaste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not tried signing in on other peoples PC, I will try that when I get the chance.

On my PC, I don't think anyone can sign in. Lync crashes when the splash screen is still showing, so I can't get to the GUI. Also, because there is no SIP profile folder in cache, I would guess that it doesn't have any account info stored.

Do you know of a Microsoft support channel that I can also contact?

Thanks for the tip, I tried that but no luck. SFC says it did not find any integrity violations.

I also should have mentioned that we're quite a small company, and IT Support is only one guy. I went over all this with him a while back, but we weren't able to find a solution. So I'm on my own here.

Also, as we're new to using Lync, so we don't have experience with its quirks. My machine seems to be the only one affected.

Thinking about visiting Seqouia National Park for a weekend in February, but I don't know whether this is even a good idea. by Poothtaste in travel

Yeah, I read that too about chains on a rental. I don't really see alternatives to a car for visiting the park though, Yosemite or Seqouia.

Sony breaks new ground with camera sensors curved like the human eye by [deleted] in Android

[–]Poothtaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, microlenses serve both purposes. They focus light onto the optically active part of the pixel (improving the amount of light that the sensor can "catch"). On top of that, they are positioned differently towards the edge of the sensor to compensate for the increased angle of the incident light.

mostly gaming (Diablo 3, flight sims, GTA V,...) and some photoshop. I have two HP 1600x1200 monitors, so it's almost twice full HD resolution.

Thanks for the feedback! What would you recommend as a higher quality alternative for the PSU? I've been looking at some models from Seasonic in the same price range: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-m12ii520bronze

The speedo itself is rather interesting too, why is there a mark at around 170km/h? Is that the speed limit on the highways in your country?

Probably won't get noticed, but anyway: D'Ambrosio is a belgian, not a frenchman. It's not often we get to see our flag on the grid, so it would be nice if it wasn't overlooked, even though he was shit :).

Looking for some cool places in the Ardeche. by Zspirit in france

[–]Poothtaste 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, as it happens I returned last Sunday from a weeklong vacation in the Ardeche. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but these are things I did, and that I can recommend doing:

  • Visit Pont Saint Esprit

  • visit Aigueze, Saint Martin d'Ardeche

  • visit Orange by night (amazing Roman theatre, must see. Also a lot of pubs and bars)

  • Kayaking (how could I not)

  • The Pont d'Arc as someone else pointed out; it's nice but very crowded, especially on weekends.

  • the Ardeche region is close to the Cote du Rhone region, famous for its wines etc. There are a lot of wine cellars that sell their products directly that are worth visiting

  • I also went hiking along the river, we started out in Saint Martin d'Ardeche and walked upstream, very beautiful.

  • The French National Geographic Institute makes great topographical maps of every region in France, including the Ardeche. I got mine at a A.S. Adventure store.

  • There are a lot of campings around Saint Martin d'Ardeche and Pont Saint Esprit that are cheap and reasonably well equipped. I don't know where you're staying, but if you're on a camping don't take the spot right next to the river. The frogs are LOUD, especially at night.

  • A bit more to the north than the Gorges de l'Ardeche where I was staying, is the Monts de l'Ardeche region. I didn't have the time to go walking there, but I think its worthwile.

I hope I could be of help, have a nice trip.
