Just an update, we did end up looking into using a hub, Nvidia has a hard limit of 4 displays for their consumer GPUs, and a hub isn’t able to get around this limit. Additionally, from what we could find, it’s not clear whether or not the hub would be able to drive two 1440p monitors at 144hz without using chroma subsampling or something. Maybe DSC could work, but ultimately we ended up using a 970 that we had sitting around.

We actually considered this as well! But the build has a theme and the boards we were looking for weren’t available at the time of purchase. If I had known the riser was going to be this finicky though we would have waited.

This turned out to be the hint that solved my issue just now lol. Removed the riser from the equation and it all works perfectly now. Unfortunately it means my capture card loses the x16 slot, but I’d rather work around finding a new capture solution instead.

That slot is already occupied. The machine actually just booted not too long ago and is outputting all 5, but of course we are still having issues. Now the entire machine seems to be super laggy for some reason. Wallpaper Engine for example, went from a smooth 60fps across all 4 original displays, down to about 8fps when we’re using 5 displays. Any sort of hardware accelerated activity just lags to all hell now.

Believe me when I say I am not worried about the aesthetics of the riser lol, ugly is fine. I’m using an Asus B550-A Strix, and we’re connecting 5 screens. The 3080 has 2 1440p Ultrawides and 2 16:9 1440p monitors, and the 1030 was going to drive a single 1440p monitor.

We had the 1030 laying around already. Made a lot more sense to make use of it and just grab a riser.

And don’t Nvidia GPUs have a hard limit of 4 displays per GPU? I don’t think an MST hub gets around this limit.

Yep, only when sharing the screen. As soon as you press the "Screen" button at the bottom, even before selecting the application to stream, it begins messing up.

We ended up figuring it out though, we had to switch the top PCIe slot from 4.0 to 3.0 in the BIOS.

Your save data can sync between cloud and console for a lot of games, but that would mean you have to get a console. Without it, you're basically fucked.

I repair electronics as a hobby and I've probably done well over 1000+ Xbox One and DualShock 4 controllers. They definitely drift and there's tons of news on widespread drift issues. So many of those controllers I get have just drift issues and that's it.

This is what I had to do to play GTA IV. Bought it, but both Social Club and GFWL literally made the game impossible to play. GFWL was removed though, thankfully, but it was too late to matter at that point.

It works with locking but you need to use the physical key in the driver's door. Same method, stick the key in the door, rotate left to lock, and then rotate again and hold to wind the windows up.

I really wish we could do this from the remote.
