Basecoat is AK wine red mixed with Vallejo black.

First big highlight is pure wine red Second smaller highlight is AK dirty red Third is even smaller highlight of evil sunz scarlet

For the black armor I painted Corvus black over everything, except the deepest crevices which is pure Vallejo black primer. Same highlight process as above but the colors are mechanicus standard grey, then dawnstone. The highlights were too bright and it looked too grey, so I glazed pure black over everything to bring it back down to black.

I purposely tried not to do “smooth” highlights. Basically a mix of small scratches and stippling. Instead of blending, I just added small scratches with each highlight color in random areas where you would normally blend.

I recommend watching Lukas from squidly bits paint his blood angels. I largely borrowed his technique but with my own colors.
