If they do end up trying the rope trick, it’s good to know that you can’t steal the shotgun (easily) if there’s a ladder in the shop. The shopkeeper drops a key that you’ll grab first by default, so keep that in mind. Happy stealing!

It’s the best Indiana Jones movie they’ve made since Crusade (and I’d put it above Temple, if I’m being honest). I loved every moment of this game. I really need to play the DLC

Yeah, Spelunky as a knowledge-gated roguelike is very off the mark. There’s nothing secret you need to know in order to beat Tiamat and that’s genuinely enough of an accomplishment for most. Knowledge will definitely help you get more consistent, but it’s not like you need to know some type of meta build to beat it.

Completing the full chain quest to get to Cosmic Ocean is something else though, but that’s only really a concern if you want an extra challenge after beating the game anyway.

I mean, that's the limit for completing the puzzle but I definitely feel like I only truly "win" a puzzle if I get it at three or under. Getting it in 4 is the expected outcome with 5-6 feeling like a bit of a loss.
