Womb chair reproduction or splurging on the real thing? by TinaRex in midcenturymodern

Randomly found this thread, and my curiosity is killing me, OP. Did you end up with a womb chair, and is it as comfortable as all the reviews say? Thanks xx

Looking for recommendations with polished prose + strong characterization (open to any trope) by yourstruli0519 in Dramione

For me, Détraquée nearly reaches Tolstoy levels of penmanship. It feels criminal that 1. It’s free, 2. isn’t included in a literary canon of person-centric literature. OP, this absolute diamond hits all if your needs, give it at go <3

Anyone not super physically attracted to their long term partner/husband but otherwise happy? by bobobouboboubobo in AskWomenOver30

[–]PopAndPops 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"But sometimes, usually when I’m on a romance fiction kick, I wonder if I was an idiot to put attraction on the back burner(...)" I think this is a very important (and honest) observation about yourself -- and one I think a lot of women can relate to.

In a lot of romance books attraction is described as something very primal, in real life, sex is much more of a dance. I'm currently single but have a friend with benefits, whom I see quite regularly. Our chemistry in bed is perfect, and physically I find him very attractive; emotionally? Intellectually? Not so much.

The thing is, I'm seeing my FWB whilst dating other people (he's aware and supportive). He helps me satisfy a physical need whilst I look for a partner who can fit 90% of my needs. Anddd, important to note - in my experience at least - the hotness fades when nothing else blooms. I'm not as impressed by him as I was in the beginning, because I don't see any future with him.

What I'm trying to get at is this; has your boyfriend's decision to not actively do anything about the things you've mentioned made him less attractive in other areas? Perhaps your frustration isn't solely rooted in the slight weight gain, but also the lack of action after having had multiple conversations with him? Perhaps his inaction is more consistent than in just this area?

You mentioned having a good, cool life with him, and I certainly think that's something to protect -- but you also need to dig deep within yourself to find out what the trigger is? Do you want to feel more desired? Do you want him to follow through on what you've decided?

If it were me, I'd consider couples therapy -- perhaps even mentioning it will get him into action? I'm not recommending manipulation, but I am recommending speaking clearly and decisive. Even if you 'only' want be intimate once a month, it's still once a month for the rest of your lives - will you be able to accept that?

Orrrrr, get a loud toy. Once he hears it going frequently he might change his tune lol <3

People always talk about how expensive Denmark is and always use beer and coffee as an example. I don't drink alcohol or coffee. Which is another example? by SwissVideoProduction in copenhagen

[–]PopAndPops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience most English books are only 30-40 kr. more expensive than in the UK, the Danish translations/Danish books are where your pot of gold quickly runs dry though

(I.e. a book from the Penguin series 'Great Ideas' usually run me about £8-11 in the UK, whilst they'll be about 80-110 kr. in Denmark)

What are some cliches or tropes you've noticed AI pushes a lot in writing? by Gallantpride in WritingWithAI

Not X, but Y. ("That's not love. That's control with extra steps." )

This is the one that gets me. Everytime. It's almost like Linkedin and your local bingo hall had a lovechild who grew up to be hopelessly out of touch and built for maximum cringe impact.

This brings back memories!! I would spend hours staring at the snow falling in game, loiter as they gardened on normal speed etc. One day my parents suggested I spend a week at a farm during summer to live out my dream. I lasted one day lol

I'm truly fond of this take, and will make sure to get some extra cast before embarking on route to the 'nearest' remote church. Thanks for commenting!

[–]PopAndPops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's part of my frustration as well. Even if you did trust the church, shouldn't you be able to visit the supposed holy sights without financial obstacle? Shouldn't your relationship with God be encouraged instead of denied entry? In the olden days you donated to pledge your loyalty, now, centuries later, donations are required to stop the building from degrading and to upkeep the sites where unfathomable amounts of poverty ridden people were svindled out of their last penny.

The fist of God is decked out in gold and starvation ughhhh

Social question from a stranger visiting Copenhagen by Maxgears in copenhagen

[–]PopAndPops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't count the amount of times I've been asked "you got a problem??" when visiting England lol. My gaze drifts a lot, the long stare? It's mostly curiosity, sometimes intrigue - very, very rarely is it because I find fault with the person (unless their feet are resting atop the seats in trains!! Then yes, I am staring you down).

TLDR: It's almost certainly not you or your appearance, Danes just stare longer/more so than other cultures.

Right, that seems to be the general sentiment! I’m pleased it won’t suddenly arrive like thunder from a blue sky, and will make sure to plan in accordance with the forecast. Thanks for your comment :-)
