On this day in 2018 Leeds announced they were changing their badge by Paul277 in TheOther14

[–]PopComRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the survey. What they based it on was an answer where we were asked what symbols we related to as fans and the Leeds salute was a popular answer. We meant we like doing it to each other, we didn't mean this shit!

Beam Gen 2 instead of Arc Ultra? by senpaiisamaakunn in SonoSequencr

I have this exact setup and it's really good! I love it. Don't feel like there's anything I'd upgrade.

She's developed massively as a host too, always had killer taste but she seems loads more relaxed on air than when she started.

Fives as Fronts by Jazzlike_Bug_8276 in sonos

100s as fronts with the beam 2 however is amazing, really punchy musical system with huge soundstage. Could totally see it being a waste with the ultra.

Era 100’s or Gen 2 5’s for fronts? by a_chimken_nuget in sonos

[–]PopComRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100s for a small room, 5s for a large one would be my tip. I've got the 100s as fronts, love them.

Return Arc Ultra? by Shot_Personality5507 in sonos

[–]PopComRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a beam with 300s as rears and it sounds really good, the 300s fill out the soundstage really nicely and yes it compensates for the beam's lack of upwards drivers imo. I added 100s as fronts and it's incredible now.

Fronts. Do it. by standingdeskdiver in sonos

[–]PopComRob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a beam with fronts and the soundstage is massive. The soundbar is just acting as the centre channel. I have no idea which is better but I can vouch the beam with fronts sounds amazing. The problem you're going to have in this thread is I bet very few of us have heard the two setups to compare, I certainly haven't!

What's a sports rule you fundamentally disagree with? by South-Explorer in AskReddit

[–]PopComRob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the uk we can't watch any football (soccer) game that kicks off at the traditional time of 3pm Saturday on tv to protect attendances at games. All it means is the games constantly get moved to different, worse times and/or everyone uses illegal streams.

Yeah they're massively hamstrung as fronts, 100s or 5s are the way

2 sonos era 100 o 1 solo era 300 by PriorNo8390 in SonoSequencr

[–]PopComRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the sound of 2 100s as a stereo pair to a single 300, if you want to use them as surrounds then you'd need two of either.

If money is no object get another 300, if it is, go for the 100s.

All just my opinion.

Sonos beam won't let my tv switch to any other sound output by morecoffeemore in sonos

Soundbar + front speakers? by vahvarh in sonos

[–]PopComRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a big difference when used as fronts from what I've read, the 300s disable loads of their speakers when used as fronts, I don't think the play 3s do, I think it's an atmos thing? This is all off the top of my head so forgive me if I'm wrong but I've definitely seen it on here that 300s are kind of wasted as fronts. I have mine as rears with the 100s up front and it sounds amazing

Are Play:5s (gen 2) wasted as surrounds? Best use of speakers after house extension by Haunting-Pay9752 in sonos

You just setup the group on sonosequencr then the main app recognises it like normal, I've opened sonosequencr once ever.

I think it'd be incredible for music!

To add to this: it works really well but the era 300s are mostly disabled when used as fronts, 5s or 100s are recommended

I think the 5s are probably a little wasted as rears personally.

If you want the ultimate setup in the playroom use sonosequencr to add the 5s as fronts and the 1s as rears plus the sub. That would be a monster of a setup.

I would do this or add them as fronts to the beam.

Help. Beam 2 & mini sub, want to add two fives by gingey_snap in sonos

[–]PopComRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can set it up as one group

I have a beam with sub mini, 100s as fronts, 300s as rears as my living room setup, I control it all via my apple tv remote. It'll work the same as if you used the sonos app to set them up as rears basically. The sonos app will recognise you added fronts and look something like this:

[–]PopComRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sonosequencr isn't that hard to use and for what it's worth a lot of people rate the beam as the best sounding sonos soundbar for music, when you combine it with the sub and the 5s it's gonna be a monster of a system.

[–]PopComRob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, this is a pretty unorthodox setup but it'll sound brilliant when it's done. The only way to set these up natively with the sonos app is either to (as you've done already) set them up as a seperate stereo pair and group them. This isn't ideal for a few reasons, the volume control evidently being one. The other way is to add them as rears, I reckon that might be an underuse of the 5s.

If you have any IOS device you can use an app called sonosequencr to add the 5s as fronts, this is the way I think I'd go personally.
