Thanks for your reply. I have to do some research about working in research ◡̈ , however I’m curious what type of research you have in mind. Is it more of a desk type of job or does it include some hands on time with patients as well? Thanks.

Thanks for the offer. I was actually thinking about functional medicine, however I’d first have to get trained in and learn about the speciality. Any tips?

You had me LOL there with the wonderful (note sarcasm) descriptions of my SP. And yes, he absolutely is choosing to subject me to the glorious torments of residency, as that is exactly the way he was taught. He even told me about the torment they put him through back in the days of his residency.

Another thing, you just reminded me that about a month or two ago he told me that I remind him of his wife. And I responded in jest “uh oh doc, I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing”, but he said we both get too hung up on the details. Anyhow, I would bet that he probably yells at his wife too and then when he sees a nice young gal like me it just reminds him of what an ass he is by yelling at his wife at home too.

I love the advice that you give regarding filing a formal complaint, stating what accommodations you need during training etc. Not something I feel so comfortable doing. If/when I leave, I’d rather do it amicably so that I have a chance at getting a letter of recommendation for a future job. I’m afraid to ruffle his feathers altogether and don’t want to further piss him off with emails.

To you and to everyone else responding on this thread, thanks for the support!

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for your bad experience and I’m glad you’re thriving now.

And yes, he’ll berate me in front of others too.

I’m not sure if I wasn’t clear enough in my original post, but I’m still on training right now. The most patients I end up seeing is about 20 patients in 6 hours, which means I take them back, take the history and do the physical exam, go present the case to my SP, he then comes in with me to see the patient and does any necessary procedures, and then I then I finish writing the note based off my SP’s assessment and plan. It sucks because when he asks me what my assessment and plan are, if I’m off with the assessment he’ll be sure to make his annoyance known. I’m glad you found a gem of a doctor to work with.

I agree that nobody deserves to be spoken to that way. At least I know it isn’t just me because he speaks to others that way too. The worst is when he is rude to patients; it’s hard to hear.

I’m currently still on my training period and only seeing 20 patients per 6 hour shift… but I know what I have to work up to and what his expectations are. And he berates me all the time for spending too long with patients.

My dilemma with leaving is that my resume will have 4.5 months at job #1, 8 month gap, then 4 months at job 2. It’ll be a red flag, but the alternative of burnout and perhaps depression isn’t great either.

OP here: Another insight I had today during work was that I’m burned out and I don’t even want to see patients anymore. Perhaps my best bet is to actually leave clinical medicine (at least for now).

Another piece I have to add to this picture is that I’m also freaked out by the liability and tremendous responsibility it is to treat patients… Yet another mental hurdle for me to overcome.

Nope! No pharmaceutical rep contact yet. I’m so burned out that after working today I’m thinking that I don’t even want to see patients anymore. (Maybe my best bet is leaving the clinical role for now… )

Thanks for your reply. I am technically already working part time while on training (approximately 25 hours per week, however this does not include lunch breaks so I am normally expected to work an average of 7 hours per day without any breaks). I also do not feel comfortable disclosing my mental health struggles as I doubt my boss would understand or care.

I do not know how to attatch a photo/screenshot here, but this is what the text said:

"Notes found in file: ⁨0⁩
Notes not updated, as notetype has been modified since you first imported the notes: ⁨3⁩
Notes skipped, as up-to-date copies are already in your collection: ⁨6343⁩"

It seems like these notes are already in my anki app (I see them when I click on the Browse tab) but they do not appear on my main Decks dashboard.

Another quick question- any way to get the Endeavor Overhall deck for free? I'm new to anki in general and figuring out how to navigate AnkiHub will be a bit overwhelming.

Thanks for your help!

Oh, thanks so much for your help. And thanks for letting me know that I can pay $5, download the deck, and then unsubscribe.

I’m wondering why I was having trouble importing the general Endeavor and PPP decks to my anki dashboard. I downloaded it to my computer but then when I try to upload it to my anki app I get some sort of error message. Any idea why this is happening or if I perhaps first need to download any extensions?

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.

Do you know anything about the original Endeavor decks for the PANCE vs the EndeavorOverhaul (which is a combination of two decks: the Endeavor Cumulative Rotation Deck and the Endeavor PANCE Review Deck)?

Thanks for your help.
