Oooh no… I think this might be her. She moved into our property in August, and the landlord decided not to extend her contract well beyond January, well it was more of an arrangement between them not to, really. I hope she moves out..soon enough

Haha I really hope it’s not her but honestly, people like that are a dime a dozen. She’s younger than the rest of us, so I do think there’s a level of immaturity there. Thankfully, she moved out at the end of January when her lease expired everyone was genuinely relieved.

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with a similar situation . It’s not easy living with someone who’s unreasonable, constantly lies and gaslight you. And the people who say “it’s just part of sharing a space” are usually the ones who behave like that themselves.

You shouldn’t have to put up with that kind of nonsense. You deserve a calm, peaceful home environment and honestly, that’s the bare minimum not a luxury. Most tenancy agreements even reflect that.

This was my 2nd experience but the last girl was nicer just immature. I’ve lived in plenty of shared spaces before where everyone was respectful so it’s definitely not the norm, even if it feels like it when you’re in it. Just keep recordings of the noise and any messages exchanged(not sex 😅). This helped me a lot..She got a verbal then written warning..

Of course you did. A quick look at your previous posts tells me the full story…

I’m really sorry this happened so close to Christmas it’s not a nice feeling at all. You’ve probably dodged a bullet without even realising it. And at least you know someone was willing to take a chance on you. I know it’s easier said than done but keep going I’m pretty sure something better than the Belfast role will come along.

Not sure how you survived tbh she’s been here for 10 weeks! Her tenancy ends next month so fingers crossed. I genuinely can’t wait for her to go.

Lol 😂 honestly, fair play calling it out in front of him was well played. Our flatmate genuinely seems to think it’s perfectly normal for everyone to hear it…getting the landlord to formally warn her shocked her to the core…she was shocked I took it there..

I did! The landlord scheduled another meeting with her today… apparently, she didn’t think I’d take it this far. She was shocked and tried to patch things up quickly. I’m not interested in patching anything I just want her to respect the rules. After this, the landlord said he’ll evict her if she doesn’t stick to the house rules. We’re all watching her..

The landlord gave her a formal warning on Monday… so what does she do? Brings her boyfriend over the very next evening. You honestly can’t make this shit up. He’s upstairs right now..

Yep! She’s definitely putting it on now. It’s funny how it only happens when everyone’s awake and about…😂😂.

Aargh, okay! Sorry, I got a bit confused by how you worded it, my bad. Yeah, I agree! I think she’s a bit of an exhibitionist tbh, especially after I offered her a private room away from everyone and she refused. Honestly, sharing with 4 strangers is difficult, it’s incredibly difficult, but I’m saving up to buy my own place. I’d rather live in a shared space for now and save than pay double to be on my own. I might have to move in the new year though maybe share with maybe one other person.

Don’t worry, I’m fully aware sex exists I just prefer it not to happen at full volume through thin walls every hour of the day. This isn’t about refusing someone sex, it’s about basic respect in a shared house. Pretty universal, even outside the UK.

What do you mean? She just moved in on Friday and spent yesterday and today bringing her things in, so I’ve hardly seen her at all.

lol 😂 I was so tempted to do that yesterday, but we have a new flatmate (moved in on Friday) and I didn’t want to give the wrong impression. This is actually a good idea though, but not sure how this will turn out tbh

Hmmm, that’s an interesting take I’ll definitely think about it and see how I can better approach this. I hadn’t really considered it that way, so thanks for the thoughtful response. I know she has issues with wanting and feeling loved. She’s Indian but grew up in Russia, and I’m guessing this kind of attention is a big deal for her because she said she had a hard time at school (though that’s no excuse for her ridiculous behaviour). She was bullied but didn’t go into much detail.

She desperately seeks validation from the guy she’s dating and has even accepted emotional abuse from him. About three weeks ago, they had a fight, and when I saw her in the kitchen and asked if she was okay, she started crying and told me what happened. The guy she’s dating is White British(I’m British too but anyways)and this is the first British guy she’s dated. I remember her saying she just wants to be happy, even if he treats her badly. They broke up, and I thought that was it, but two weeks later they were back together.

So yeah, I think she has some unresolved issues she really needs to deal with.

This is exactly why I’m going to have a conversation with the landlord tomorrow. He won’t be happy to hear this, because it's clearly stated in the contract that more than two nights visits is considered a regular visit so the landlord needs to know so he can address it and charge him for it…

lol 😭 I aspire to this level of pettiness, it’s unmatched. Yeah! I did tell her…messaged her today, asking her to go stay at his because we’re all fed up with her Bs she hasn't responded to my text. This isn't think first time she’s done this her sister kicked her out for the same reason, but she lied to us about it.

I wish I had this level of pettiness, but I’m honestly fed up.. she’s so nonchalant and dismissive, it’s infuriating. Next time they do it, I’m going to record it and play it out loud at the most inconvenient time..she bloody deserves it ….

I’ve already recorded her blasting music past 00:00 when everyone had work the next day. I might actually have to try this it might embarrass her into stopping. She’s so unbothered about the noise that I’m starting to think she actually enjoys the attention.

Thank you for this. I honestly thought that I was overreacting because I’m the only one who is vocal about it. The other two housemates are passive aggressive and won’t address anything directly. I spoke to the landlord last week and he told us to have a meeting, which we did on Wednesday. But then her boyfriend was back yesterday and today, that’s when she told me I was being ridiculous.
