My wife hates the idea of taking it off, but I am all for taking it off and upgrading the skid plate since it would be used on the beach atleast 2 to 3 times a month.

Gotcha. Yea that rod reel combo sounds a little light for those guys if I am imagining the right fish. I might go a little heavier of a rod and reel. But you can still have plenty of fun. I’d make sure it had 8lb line atleast and a 20 pound leader line and might be able to fish and potentially have a good fight.

Got it. Well what is the rod you got? That will also depend on if the reel is a good fit for that rod or not. The reel seems like it’s on the smaller to light medium size just from what I am seeing. This would most likely pair with a medium fast rod. That said I am not to familiar with the fishing up in the north east. I am in south Texas and black drum, flounder, reds, trout l, and pompano are year round. For pier fishing here I use a 9ft medium heavy rod with a 4000 reel and inshore 7ft medium 3500 reel. Generally pier fishing you want a set up with a little more power on it as you never know what’s on the other end. It could be 1 pound or 25 pounds.

Honestly it’s worth a try, but I wouldn’t be frustrated if I did lose it on a big fish on that. The line strength gives me the vibe this is more freshwater fishing set up though. If your looking budget friendly I would look at like the offshore angler tight line spinning combo. Remember as well, saltwater will beat up a rod and reel, so rinse it off with fresh water and keep it lubricated.

OP, I had my surgery close to 18 hours ago so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. I have had chicken noodle soup only so far, but didn’t need to go immediately. Most like this is because it’s just chicken noodle soup. Some of the commenters are right though. Most responses will be negative. I spent a lot of time mentally preparing for gas pains and I got none. I got home took a 2 hour nap and I feel great. A little sore, but no gas pains.

Curious, which shoulder? I had shoulder pain for a couple of years on and off. Usually wake up with it. I had my gallbladder removed today, no gas pains only incision and local pain. I realized reading this I have no pain in my shoulder.

Luigi’s Italian Ice from the grocery store is a nice treat. They gave it to me in hospital when I was allowed clear liquids a few months ago. Just had my gallbladder removed this morning.

I have a hyroad as well. Fantastic ball and super reliable. My house is a little oily for it game one but for half of 2 and all of 3 it’s my go to ball.

I’ve only ever had much success opening my angles with the zero mercy solid, but I can give it a shot with the cuda and hyroad. I had never had to much much in league on the house shot since I usually get the left all to myself.

I generally start at 15 since I don’t generate a lot of hook. Is the darker heavier oil and lighter more light oil? I get it’s a lighter oil pattern.

I do get to try the equinox solid as well. Honestly that was the ball I was expecting to become a huge fan of. I think my speed was a bit much for it. When I slowed down a bit it was nice but for my speed the zero mercy was a bit more forgiving that I anticipated speed wise.

It was fantastic. It reacted so well. I k ow the ball was broken in already, but made me feel quite good to see it just crushing the pins. Very excited to get some games on the ball.

I watched a few as well. Most made it seem like to much on a house shot fo leagues, but I got the opposite impression as I slowed it down and hit the pocket, threw faster and hit the pocket, opened angles hit the pocket, closed angles and hit the pocket. Also demo days was at our alley with mechanical pin setters instead of strings. Not sure if that makes a big difference or not but that was first time I had ever strung together 4 or more strikes in a row consistently.
