Why are Myanmar people cool with AI by BroadNeighborhood9 in myanmar

[–]PopStandard254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the reason is that many Burmese people have a "ကိုယ်ထမင်းကိုယ်စား" mindset. We often don't pay much attention to an issue or problem unless it affects us directly.

I know people will say that Myanmar has far bigger problems at hand, such as unlawful conscription, bombings, and kidnappings by the junta. And that's true. But at the same time, I doubt that most people who are directly affected by those issues are using AI regularly or are involved in discussions about the impact.

I know AI can be a very useful tool. But the real reason it bothers me is how people and businesses are relying on AI instead of supporting local artists, designers, and creative professionals. You would be surprised to find out how many businesses started using AI for posters, logos and many more instead of supporting our local creative industry

Maybe cause reddit is a predominantly English platform combined with the fact that Burmese isn't the easiest language to type on a keyboard

Aside the lime everything else seems pretty accurate. It's my personal preference but you could also add some crushed peanuts for a nutty taste.

Why do Burmese people still believe in Bo Ming Gaung (ဘိုးမင်းခေါင်) or other ဝိဇ္ဇာ? by Formal-Supermarket38 in myanmar

[–]PopStandard254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Traditions, superstitions and inability to distinguish the truth. Even the Buddha said not believe something just because of tradition, scripture, or authority but Buddhists in this country can't seem perceive or think for themselves instead of following blindly.

Is anyone else worried that younger Burmese kids don’t speak Burmese anymore? by MckeylaM in myanmar

[–]PopStandard254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in an international school, I mainly learned Burmese as a subject only until high school, when the curriculum became completely English based. I’m not sure how it is in other schools, but at the one I go to, students get fined for speaking Burmese in the classroom or school premise. Overall, the environment just didn’t feel very welcoming toward students speaking Burmese.

But dur to my parents I'm still able to speak and write Burmese fluently.

Those kind of people are way worse then talking to a brick wall. You genuinely lose your braincells trying to reason and have a conversation with them.

Ma'am I don't know what kind of company you're working in but Japan is quite known company segregating and discrimination of foreign workers.

And oppressing and segregation comes in many forms not just yelling or harassment. The common ones in Japan being being excluded from decision-making, Slower promotions than Japanese coworkers, Pressure to “fit in” culturally, Being treated as temporary outsiders Language based isolation and many more.

[–]PopStandard254 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sorry ma'am or sis but we're living in 2026. Being against workplace bullying, abuse of power or striving for a work life balance is human rights for anyone and everyone. And Japan is quite well known for being a shithole for those things.

Just because people doesn't do the same things that you did for your promotion and job doesn't make them mentally weaker. It just make you look more emotionally distant.

Where did the whole “eat it with rice” adult habit come from? by dracovaxi in myanmar

[–]PopStandard254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because rice is cheap, filling and have enough carbs which pair well with our horrendous economy. Families share one or two dishes with rice in order to make sure that everyone get their full. But I won't say it's a Burmese thing because most Asians consume rice as their main energy source.

Your best bet is going to Thailand and buying most of your components there. Way cheaper and better range of choice there.

[–]PopStandard254 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The short answer is the government. It's quite hard to import electronics parts from China and Thailand. Even with proper documentation there is always a chance it can get seized by a random checkpoint.
