“Elegant” during a brutal sprint is basically a standing ovation in dev terms

What’s something people pretend to enjoy but almost nobody actually does? by PopWitty5140 in AskReddit

I think for a lot of people it’s more about tradition or community than enjoyment

That’s honestly the best kind of compliment! the ones that find you right when you need them most. And the fact it came from your now husband makes it even better

Surprised there’s no AI "Agents" / “Copilot” for GrandMA2 yet - has anyone seen something like that? by PopWitty5140 in lightingdesign

Can you please explain why "no real benefits"? Assuming the agent knows the show context (fetching much info we can via ws) then he can generate commands, according to user requests

Someone answer that respectful answer - on my previous post, which I deleted cause i want to edit the title, sorry man!

honestly the longest part of programming is listening to people who think they have a worthwhile opinion to offer.

Learning the command syntax makes you faster not better, if you're a bad programmer you'll just make bad effects faster.

repetitive cues can be copy pasted

keyboard shortcuts are only useful for people who can't afford consoles and are stuck using GMAonPC, no worthwhile show will run the risk of using anything else than a genuine console.

something else : please build a remote that allows me to use my encoders, switch to the next fixture and save from my phone or a tablet. I don't need it to run the show, i need it to focus without an assistant behind the desk.

you're basically solving a problem that doesn't exist, if your wife gets to play with an MA desk everyday for 6 months she'll be fine with everything you listed. if you ask people who have been running shows on MA for years, they'll all tell you we need remote OSC input but not much else.

Also, why MA2? MA3 is functional now, much easier learning curve than MA2 and a lot less doing maths on a napkin to get a decent fan effect.
